I like authors that talk to me, rather than just write at me. This excerpt talked to me...I'm gonna listen to this one cover-to-cover.

This is a great narrative with truly interesting characters, each one of the description wants me to know more about them and if the subject of the sample chapter is any indication, they will not disappoint. The author has created a fast-paced narrative to draw the reader in and at the same time sets the world in which they exist. I thought the writing was technically great and the laws and history of the world realized. I look forward to this book's success.

I'm recommending this book for two reasons: 1. I think you will enjoy the detail and writing style and the plot is fresh and interesting. 2. I wrote it :P

This is absolutely as good as any fantasy I have ever read, and I've read quite few. Became completely absorbed in this.

This is at least as good as any fantasy I've ever read. It's so good, I didn't even think a about style, structure, use of words etc. It's simply a great read, an exciting story that does not waste a single word. This guy can write, and deserves a place on any bookshelf in any store, anywhere in the world.

Good solid writing, that reads well, and nicely sets up the problems that come with any new invention - it's use for good, or it's use for destruction. The creator of this new explosive substance means well, but you know the secret is going to get out, and the peace of the land is going to be broken, and you will be left asking why living in peace is never enough. 

Very strong opening that thrusts you into a dark world facing the consequences of dark deeds.
