NEED YOUR HELP!!!

It would mean LOTS if you could take less than one minute out of your day to rate + review The Coffee Run on Goodreads (link below).

The more stars (let's go with 5 stars) + blurbs (kind words, perhaps?), the better.

From features on TODAY, HuffPost and Grant Cardone TV, I'm thrilled to announce that TCR has been getting some really awesome press.

BUT...

Your support means most.

Thank you in advance! Good karma is on its way.

Update!

Hopefully many of you have been receiving your book(s) in the mail. If so, WOO! If not, expect them soon.

I've received a lot of great feedback - including where to pre-order my book. As of right now, people can place orders through any of the following sites:

Share these links!!! The best support you could give is to help spread the word about my book and where to buy.

For those of you that have received The Coffee Run - show me! Send me pics to sydfulk@gmail.com & post on your social media using #thecoffeerun (or get an intern to post it for you).

And to my sponsors - Please be on the lookout for information next week regarding your sponsorship package.

I cannot thank you enough for supporting me. 11 months ago I had this idea to write a book...

...Et voila! The coffee's finally ready.

SNF

Dear amazing supportive people,

I am happy to announce some exciting events coming up in preparation of The Coffee Run's launch (and by launch I mean actually in stores, no more preordering!).

For starters, I am honored to have the opportunity to speak at Jack Myers' 1stFive Reception in NYC this Thursday evening. Over 250 media and communications interns will attend the event and I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of it!

This Friday in NYC I also have an interview scheduled with Terri Trespicio of Solopreneur! She asked me some great pre-interview questions a few weeks ago, so I'm ready to meet this entrepreneur in person!

August 25th is when TCR will be hitting the shelves! The Inkshares team has been incredibly helpful through the process but I'm ready for the end result! In the meantime, I will continue to connect and spread the word to as many students as possible - especially before the start of the new school year next month.

Thank you for your positive words, questions about the progress, and for talking about TCR to others. I look forward to meeting with my sponsors next month (details TBA) as well as hearing what you think about the finished product!

Stay tuned and stay caffeinated,

Sydney

Dear Supporters,

I am thrilled to announce some updates on my book. It's quite the process!

Last month I completed the developmental editing stage and am now onto the last copyedit revision. I am happy to say that this brings me one step closer to my publication date in late August/early September. The anticipation is killing me too, I know.

Now for the visuals. I have been working closely with my book's illustrator, Benjamin Wade. I met him through Louisville's duPont Manual High School's Visual Arts Magnet. He's an incredibly talented artist and I am so impressed with the witty and creative images he has illustrated for my book.

Aside from finalizing illustrations, I am also working on The Coffee Run's cover design. As much as we hate to admit it, we sometimes unconciously catch ourselves judging a book by its cover. That's why I am spending ample time creating a cover that will appeal to as many eyes as possible (with excellent content too, of course).

Sponsor update: I'd like to thank my Sponsors for going that extra mile in helping me fund my book. Expect your signed copies and letters of appreciation to be presented to you mid-September. As of right now, your names and businesses have been proudly printed in my book. Your support is incredibly appreciated!

One last thing - I recently published an article for Jack Myers' Media Village site. This company is working on a really cool platform that focuses on students in the first five years of their careers. Read my post here: https://www.mediavillage.com/article/intern-fail-learn-repeat/

That concludes my update for now. Thank you again for your support. In the meantime, spread the word about The Coffee Run

All the best,

Sydney

PS - What do you think about my updated logo? (Hint: the "O" and the "R" are a different color for a reason. See it?)

Supporters,

I am thrilled to inform you that I have successfully reached my funding goal for publication! Thank you for your contributions because I could not have done it without you (literally, I couldn't afford to!).

A few cups of coffee later, the first draft of my manuscript was submitted around midnight last night. My production schedule has been set and my book will be physically attainable in the near months ahead.

Please do not forget that my book is still available for pre-order! You can login to the same Inkshares website that you used to donate to my book, and voila, a paperback copy for $25. I recommend stocking up for high school graduation gifts or maybe for your BFF before their first internship. Even if your internship was so ten years ago, I can promise you that the lessons in this book are applicable to every aspect of life.

Stay tuned for upcoming partnerships, book signing dates, and media shout outs. I am excited for this journey and to help as many students as I can to have the most rewarding internship experiences. Thank you again for helping me make this book possible.

Best,
Sydney

Dear readers, supporters, and people potentially tired of hearing about my funding updates,

I have great news: the book is funded! Before my deadline, even! This is wonderful because now I can shift my "can I please have some money for publication" mindset to one that is excited to write. The production process is in the works. In the meantime, I will continue to reach out to students, book speaking events, develop partnerships, and promote this book like crazy.

Thank you to my sponsors and to everyone who supported my book to help it get to publication. I am looking forward to this journey just as much as you are looking forward to reading my book! That's why you preordered it, right?

"If you want something badly enough, you'll do all you can to get there."

All the best,

Sydney

Supporters,

Thank you for helping me reach over 50% funding in my first 5 weeks of launching this project! I couldn't have done it without you. I have 48 days to meet my goal and I am confident that I will be able to do so.

Brief catch up - I spoke to duPont Manual's Editorial Leadership class in December and really enjoyed answering the students' questions about internships, like, "What was the biggest mistake you made as an intern?" They loved hearing my stories - it really puts things into perspective for them.

I have secured several talks and stories in the media in the upcoming months, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. I am looking forward to reaching this goal and promoting the importance of internships and all they have to offer. Share my link, talk to friends and family about my book, but most of all - know that your support means so much to me!

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Sydney

Dear amazing first-pre-order-week Backers,

I wanted to personally thank you for helping contribute to my first book's publishing. Every bit helps, and I really appreciate any sort of contribution, sharing, promoting, etc. That's why I've given you a little shout out on a video I've posted on my Facebook Page & YouTube channel (link below).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wbpP4PoK9g&feature=youtu.be

My first local promotion to students will be at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky. I'll keep you updated with how that talk goes as well as other promotional events I have going on!

Thank you again!
