By the way, I forgot in my last update. If anyone wants to read some of my new book and give some feedback send me a message. I’d be more than happy to reciprocate. Although I don’t plan on publishing this book via Inkshares, I’d be more than happy to share some of it with the great community here! Once again; have a great day!
Best Wishes, Scott Carss
I’m sorry to bother you again, but this is an update in which I’m going to be entirely frank. It’s not completely about MONOMAN, but it involves it heavily.
At the moment I am not working on MONOMAN. It is my dream book, but I have to admit it is not a good first book. it’s too long and I don’t know if I have the experience to pull it off. I’m not even twenty yet.
Don’t worry I’m still writing. I have been working on an urban fantasy novel which I think is far more publishable at the moment. I’ve already finished over a quarter of the first draft in the last two days. That’s with a bit of writer’s block I ran into on the second, but then overcame. I’m going back to college on Monday (hooray!) which might slow my work down, but I hope to finish the first draft before then.
As for MONOMAN, I haven’t actually done much work on it in the past year. I’ve been frustrated with a lot of problems it has, but I know how to fix them. Once I get finished my urban fantasy novel I plan to completely overhaul a bunch of things. For example, my brother pointed out that Allen doesn’t feel old enough. He’s thirty six by the way and I plan to increase his age to forty one in the next draft for timeline reasons. I can do it, but it will mean rewriting many of his POVs. This is just one of many issues I plan on fixing.
Most of you probably didn’t stick around to read this wall of text, I know I wouldn’t. But I thank anyone who did. I promise to put my all into my new novel! I hope you have a wonderful day!
From, Scott Carss
Managed to finish a part of my book that was giving me difficulty for a while. I hope to get it finished and sent to a publisher within the next few months. I love Inkshares, but I think for me other routes are best as I’m not very good at asking people for stuff.
No new pre-orders but we’ve had two recommendations which are greatly appreciated. I’ve been working on the book a little whenever university allows. I hope to have it in tip top shape soonish so that if this campaign falls as flat as I must admit it looks like it is then I can get to work on finishing another publisher. I hope everyone else is having a great weekend!
Okay so 3 orders almost a third of the campaign doesn’t seem hugely promising, but I hope that can change. If not I fully intend to get my book published whatever way possible, but for the time being I’m begging anyone interested in my book to check out-maybe leave a review-anything. I know it’s a lot to ask to purchase a book but even a recommendation could make later attempts much easier. That’s all I really have to say today and is all I’ve really been saying for a while.
So for the time being have a great day. I hope all your projects meet with far more success than mine.
I’ve arrived completely in university where I hope to find many readers. I will be doing my best to get as many of them as possible to pre-order my book. In the mean time any reviews, recommendations or further orders would greatly help to convince those who find their way to my page to place the order. Any such contribution will have the utmost appreciation.
Next Friday I will be heading off to university where I hope to pick up a decent amount of preorders. I may have started this campaign at the wrong time when I was unable to do much, but I hope to pick up the pace substantially once I arrive. I hope to get at least a few preorders before then, but i have not given up hope of getting my book published. So please any help you can give would be invaluable.
