As many of you have guessed, we didn’t reach our preorder goal.  As per how things work on Inkshares, this means the book isn’t going to be published through them.  

It’s got me thinking a lot about failure and defeat.  I always kind of considered these words to be interchangeable.  But on further reflection, they really aren’t, I don’t think.  Defeat, admittedly, is final.  But failure is something that can be changed.  You can fail and try again.  

So, I’m proud to say this is a failure, in a way.  I’m not going to quit or admit defeat.  I’ve learned so much through this experience and done a lot of things I’m proud of!  The contests I’ve run, the photo shoot I was lucky enough to take, the art that came from this (that video, right?) and so much more.  I will learn from this.  I’m going to keep trying.  And it’ll be a struggle.  But I’m a failure, not a quitter.
