Yes, the MailChimp link included in my last update is broken. My most sincere apologies, but there were a handful of issues (including the requirement to publish my actual physical mailing address to the world) that made me very uncomfortable. I have canceled that account thanks to these problems.
I hope everyone still wants to stay in touch despite these issues. If you wish to receive email updates, please send an email to RHWebster.SciFi@gmail.com so I can add you too my "Lucky Supporters" contact list. You can also subscribe to my soon-to-be-updated blog at www.RHWebster.wordpress.com. I’ll be posting novel updates there as well in the future.
My fantastically patient and wonderfully supportive Readers, I beg your forgiveness for two updates in one evening. In the flurry of sending out the earlier update and answering the rain of messages from concerned patrons, I forgot to mention a couple of important things:
1.) If you do not receive your refund from Lucky in the next 3 to 5 business days, please let me know ASAP. I want to make sure everyone receives their full refund back before we move on with this process.
2.) I have set up a mailing list subscription service to ensure that everyone receives future updates in a timely manner. Click this link to subscribe to the mailing list (no spam, I promise!): http://eepurl.com/c7XOJn
(If the link doesn’t work, copy and paste it into your browser’s address bar.)
As many of you have noticed, you’ve started receiving emails saying that your payments for Lucky are being refunded. Please, do not panic! This is all part of a plan, I promise.
Recently, it has become apparent to me that Lucky’s best chance for success is along a self-publishing path. She is already scheduled to go to a copy-editor in December and to be formatted and released early in 2018. I will of course keep you all informed as we progress.
Now is when I need your support and patience more than ever. I still believe wholeheartedly in Lucky and I want you to believe as well. Please stay in touch and let me know your thoughts as we go through the next few months. I am all over social media (can’t miss me!) as well as have a new email set up specifically for handling Lucky-related everything. So please, reach out! I want to hear from you!
Thank you all for everything! You have not only helped this novel grow, but you have helped me believe in myself as an author. I look forward to continued adventures in the (not too distant) future!
I wanted to drop a line to let you know we’re still here. I am working through some final notes on Lucky before sending it to the publisher. That irritating thing called "real life" (and "job" and "bills") has been keeping me from working as quickly as I would like. Your patience and endurance through this process is more than any author could ask for.
Stay tuned - more updates are coming down the line!
Just a quick update to let you all know that Draft #3 came back from my editor with very positive feedback! Okay, I’ll admit I might have bribed her with donuts...but she’s excellent at her job and I am excited to say that the next steps of publishing are quickly approaching!
Cross your fingers and think some good vibes in the general direction of my novel over the next few weeks. I’ll be back with another update as soon as I know more details!
I am happy to let you all know that the third draft has gone to my beta readers. I’m expecting their feedback to come back in about two weeks(ish?). From there, provided that everything goes well, I want to send the manuscript to Inkshares within a month.
I realize there’s a lot of "if" in this plan, but my goal is to get this book into the production process by early July at the earliest. My dearest hope is that your patience will be well-rewarded and that once you hold your copies of Lucky in your hands you will find that the wait has been worth it.
More news coming soon. As always, a galaxy of thanks for all of you.
I am happy to let you know that, after (far too much) silence, draft three rewrites are currently in progress. If all goes according to plan, rewrites will be complete by the first of March. It’ll take a lot of coffee AND plenty of support from all of you, so think happy vibes in my general direction. Once rewrites are done, I’ll drop another line to update you all on a potential production timeline.
Your support and patience mean the world to me. Thank you all so much for believing in this story!

Good evening, my wonderful and faithful Readers,
To my amazing and wonderful readers,
I wanted to drop a line to let you know we’re still here. I am working through some final notes on Lucky before sending it to the publisher.
