Bloody hell, talk about leaving the reader hanging. It's no small feat to start in the thick of action and keep it gripping and concise at the same time, while laying out such intriguing, world changing mystery. But Andre has done it beautifully. 

I have to give it to Andre Brun for tackling a touchy subject like religion in his debut novel Lies and Deception. While the idea of travelling through time, another difficult conceit to render convincingly in literature, and Jesus Christ doesn't feel new, I can't remember reading anything quite like this. The modern atmosphere of the samples also took me off guard. I'm eager to see where Andre is going with this and I hope he hits his goal.

This book starts right into the action in the very first sentences and fails to disappoint. If you love sci-fi and action, then this is the book for you!

Who hasn't wondered what they would say, what they would ask, were they to come face to face with someone who thousands have considered God Himself for thousands of years? A believer might seek the answers that lead our self-destructive world to salvation, but he might come out the other side of that conversation disillusioned. While the non-believer, who hopes to eradicate God's influence from the same world could wind up with a change of heart. And let's not forget, time travel makes it possible. The premise is so ripe for religious debate, I can't wait to see how it plays out in this dark sci-fi thriller.

The chilling introduction to Lies and Deception grabs the reader with its mystery and promises a thrilling story I look forward to reading.

I've always been interested with the question, what would happen to our society if time travel disproved/proved Christianity? Looks like Lies and Deception delves right into that question and I, for one, am excited to see how it play out!
