@David Howard , I don’t think we’ve actually decided an age group yet. We most likely are looking to work in short fiction or novellas, and we know that we want it to be a group effort. We mainly want to turn the typical genre tropes on their heads, because we like seeing things take interesting twists!
Today is the day that funding for Lucky ends. This is your last chance to order a copy and boost our numbers towards the fully funded mark of 750. We are depressingly far behind that number right now, so unless all of you have 50 friends who will also buy a copy of the book before midnight, we’re not going to make it.
I have applied for a funding extension from the Inkshares Overlords in hopes of being able to meet the 750 goal, but as of the sending of this update I have not received a reply, either positive or negative. I am hoping for a positive outcome, but at this point it’s just a hope.
I’d like to add that I have gathered many valuable insights from this funding journey with Inkshares: I feel that storytelling could be considered my "calling" in life. Even though I’m primarily focused on finishing and publishing this novel, I have a bunch of other stories in the back of my head clamoring to be let out. It’s exciting beyond belief and I look forward to being able to share these stories with you in the future.
Again, thank you all for your undying and unwavering support. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue into the publishing process.
Happily Whatever After has gained such an enthusiastic following. I want to thank each and every one of you for believing in this project and being willing to support it. More details are in discussion, but we will be starting to look for submissions and short works of fiction in the near future.
In other news (and to occupy your eyes in the meantime), my first Required Viewing blog post is live and covers not only two of my favorite movies, but also briefly discusses the difference between science fiction and science fantasy.
