What if you were freed from a life of institutionalization only to discover that you where what many would consider to be a monster?  This is the question that rolls around and around in my head when I read the excerpts for this book.  Beyond that I'm always excited to see little known demons/dark gods being used in new and interesting ways, which this book does well with wonderfully horrific descriptions of the nightmares such a thing entails.  I can't wait to get even more of a look into the mind of Jay, and just where her fate is taking her.

This story immediately pulled me in because of how Jayashree is viewed in the mental hospital, being treated like she has mental illness but there's so much more to her than none can comprehend. Not even her. Can you imagine having supernatural powers within you that you have no knowledge of and because of them, you're locked up? I can't wait to see how Jayashree develops and also curious about her friend Harvey. I highly recommend this one!

With a compelling start and interesting characters, Daughter of the Mara layers fantastic imagery with character development to put the reader into the point of view of the protagonist. In the prologue, the scene is set with the history of the character and by chapter one we are launched into this engaging story. I look forward to reading more.

An idea that is too good to not read but will also drive me insane contemplating if it applies to my life and is a window of truth.

Daughter of the Mara - a powerful concept...is your life the embodiment of a nightmare? Nice release.
