I love the light tone of this piece because it is funny, but not jokey. This helps the conflict of the piece have more stakes and brings the reader closer to the characters. Also, the three-dimensions place the characters firmly within their arc, while bringing the entire story to life. Well-constructed and a joy to read, The Britches of War will put a smile on your face.
