** PROJECT UPDATE **
Last night the digital e-Book copies of The Wildlife Confessional shipped (=became available) to backers. Unfortunately, on the print-side we’ve been working closely with Inkshares over the last week to troubleshoot a printing deficiency that came about during production - the quality of the illustrations on the paper page wasn’t up to snuff, something the printer has assured us was a one-off.
Those of us - like myself - that value the printed word on paper pages will have to sit tight while they queue up the presses for a new run of books, which likely won’t arrive until after the New Year. But I hope those of you who e-read have already tucked in to your copy of The Wildlife Confessional and are busy tap-turning the pages late into the night.
Thank you again for your patience - they say good things come to those who wait, so this must be a good thing coming :).
Happy Holidays,
The Editors

** Update **
Happy holidays, Confessionistas!
Regretfully, our original November print date has slipped a month due to the intricacies of the internal layout, so we are now looking at a mid-December press date (right now, it’s December 10), still in time for the holidays!
On the plus side, the delay has given us time to revisit the cover to make it sparkle! Moving forward, we’ll be providing more regular updates on the project’s Facebook page [https://www.facebook.com/The-Wildlife-Confessional-1070767069681846/]. There, you can see the updated cover design and follow along as our Amazon page goes live (we have an ISBN!) and the presses start rolling.
As always, thank you *all* for your patience and support.
Regards,
** Breaking News**
Hello to all of our backers,
Another exciting update for supporters of The Wildlife Confessional - this afternoon we received the “pour” (dropping the text into layout) of the manuscript on its way to the proofreader. Production is ramping up!
Again, thank you *all* for your patience and support seeing this project through to fruition. We will continue to update you as we pass milestones, and look forward to putting a book in your hands this fall.

The Wildlife Confessional
Hello to all of our backers,
**Breaking News**
We have an exciting update for supporters of The Wildlife Confessional - this week Inkshares notified us that they have assigned us a copy editor and the first round of editing is underway. That means we should be getting a production schedule and a formal publication date for the anthology in the next few weeks.
Right now, we are looking at a tentative late August / early September publication date, well in time for the holidays!
Thank you *all* for your patience and support seeing this project through to fruition. We will continue to update you as the project falls into place, and look forward to putting a book in your hands this fall.
Happy Spring,
Thank you all again for supporting The Wildlife Confessional. I wanted to take a quick moment to share with you an update on the project. For those of you who were key in helping this project meet it’s sales goal, you may remember that we met that goal in February 2018 under Inkshares’ "Quill" program. That program has since been retired, and Inkshares is working their way down the list of Quill qualifiers, of which we happen to be the very last funded.
And so we - and, in turn, you - are simply waiting in line until our turn comes along to be assigned an editor for layout, design, and production. Otherwise, the manuscript is done and ready for submittal. But we haven’t been idle. In the Jan/Feb 2019 issue of The Wildlife Society’s very own professional magazine, The Wildlife Professional (do you see what we did there?), we ran a teaser for anthology contributor Brian Cypher’s story, The Pirate Kit Fox. If you are fortunate enough to be a member of The Wildlife Society, I hope you’ve had a chance to read it.
Rest assured, as soon as we hear that we’ve moved up to the front of the line, you - our faithful readers and supporters - will be the very first to know!
Until then, thank you for your patience and understanding.
Regards,
Matthew
