Eli woke suddenly, as if she had been slapped in the face.

The faint throbbing that usually followed her alarm buzz lingered at the edges of her forehead. Knowing the throbbing would blossom into a migraine if given the chance, she rolled over to grab the pillbox on her bedside table. Eli was a heavy sleeper and was required to keep her alarm buzz on the highest setting to prevent overs. . .

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far!

It's been a rough few weeks, and I'll admit that I've been slacking. I jumped into this campaign very quickly and didn't budget my time well enough to get more content on the site. But I'm back on track!

I've uploaded two new chapters; a longer one with dialogue and a few new characters, and a short one that is from a wider point of view. The first two chapters are pretty different, one having no dialogue while the other is full of it. I'm trying to find a natural medium, so writing and posting both to see which reads better. I'm also working with the idea of having chapters from both Eli's perspective and the perspective of a Tapper, to highlight the differences between her closed, secretive world and the world from the eyes of a person who can see anything at any time.

Please let me know what you think of the new chapters, and if you know anyone else who would be interested in reading the book please share the project!

      Cheers!
      -Heather

PS: The novel is morphing as I write, so in a later version Eli might start out not knowing the specifics of how the Wirenet works. The reader will get to learn with her, with a little help from a doctor who has done some experimenting. If you have any thoughts on this please let me know, and stay tuned for more of the story!

In the New Connected States, science has progressed far enough to implant a network of wires into each human that uses the body’s electrical signals to gather information. You can’t hide when you’re being watched from the inside.
