Geoffrey A Davenport liked an update for Witherfist

Hello, readers. Long time no write!

By now, you should have received an email letting you know that you’re getting a refund for pre-ordering my book, Witherfist. Sadly, this isn’t a mistake. I’ve decided not to go ahead with publishing Witherfist at this time.

Since successfully hitting funding of Witherfist in January of this year, I’ve come to a realisation. The book needs a lot of work and a lot of time before it’s in a position to hand to a publisher, let alone to send out to wonderful readers like yourself. Not knowing how long that will be, I don’t feel comfortable asking you to wait, not when you’ve already parted with your money, and so I have made the decision to request that Inkshares refund all of you.

Whether you preordered the book because you genuinely liked the story of Witherfist, or because you wanted to support me, either as a friend or as a fellow author and Inkshares community member, I’m incredibly grateful. Having so many people rally behind this book - and me - really was amazing. You’ve all given me the confidence to share my writing with the world, and I can’t thank you enough for that.

Thanks again for all of your support.

Please let me know if you have any issues receiving your refund.

    Dear Readers,

Thank you so much for your support over the last month. I am still sitting firmly in 8th place in the Nerdist contest, which, as you know, is out of the running. Mutants: Uprising will not be published through this contest - and you know what? That’s okay.

The story is in no way DEAD - it still exists and will be published at some point. However, you will be refunded your money for this campaign after the contest ends.

THANK YOU so much for following me on this journey! It means the world to me.

      NINE DAYS REMAIN

I have great news! Mutants Uprising was picked by the Inkshares Staff Syndicate as their book of the month for June 2017! We gained some readers and are now tied for 6th place. Just one order will put us up and properly into 6th. That’s where you come in - if you’re waiting for the dramatic, last minute save-the-day time to order, we’re there!

First, Second, and Third place keep adding to their numbers so it’s going to be an uphill climb, but WE CAN DO THIS. If you’ve already ordered, please sit a friend down at the computer and walk them through placing an order. This is a huge contest, and winning it means more exposure and good things for the first book I funded through Inkshares, Fae Child.

I’ve sent you the second chapter of the book, temporarily titled "Drive By." I hope you enjoy it!

Do you hear that clock ticking? I do!

Exciting news, readers: 1000 Faces - my Black Mirror-esque entry into the Nerdist Sci-Fi Contest - has been chosen as the monthly pick for the Break the Bechdel with Strong Female Characters Syndicate. This is a real honour and I’m so delighted to share with you the syndicate’s reason for picking 1000 Faces:

In 1000 Faces, J. Graham-Jones has captured one of the most insidious fears that waits below the surface of almost every modern interaction- privacy. Kara, the protagonist, is a woman who seems to wear a mask to keep out those around her as well as all those who read her story. Jones’ voice is crisp and mysterious, masterfully easing us into this very possible future through the eyes of a woman we can’t wait to see come into her own.

The support of the syndicate has pushed 1000 Faces into 5th place in the Nerdist contest. We’re now within 16 readers of the top 3 and victory!

Don’t forget to check out the 1000 Faces teaser trailer on Youtube, and my recent interview with Natacha Guyot’s Nexus.

More importantly, don’t forget to preorder. There are only 10 days left in the contest, and your preorder could be the difference between Kara Finch hiding behind a mask forever, or stepping out into the spotlight...

          Hello dear followers!

We have slipped down to 7th place! Backwards momentum isn’t good. SO, an incentive for you to order, and order now:

If I get 9 preorders in the next 24 hours, I will record myself reading the first chapter of Mutants: Uprising, swears and all. I don’t normally swear all that much, so this could be a disaster. A disaster you’ll want to hear!

Preorder here. Just $10 for an ebook and my undying gratitude!

If you’re interested in Spotify playlists, here’s the one I listen to when I’m writing this story.

Have a great Sunday! I’m off to see Wonder Woman again and get empowered.

Hello all 93 of my followers! I hope you are having a great weekend.

42 of you have already preordered - thank you! If the rest of you preorder, we will have a little breathing room for the rest of the competition. There are 15 days left, FIFTEEN, and we have slipped to 6th place after holding onto 2nd or 3rd from the beginning.

Time is running out. We need at least 8 preorders to reclaim 3rd, and the other contestants are continuing to add to their numbers. Please preorder now if you can, or share the project with friends and talk to them about preordering their own copy!

There is some good news: I just made a book trailer! Click the banner above, or any other link in the update, and check it out on the book page. I hope you enjoy it! You can also like me on Facebook, and share the pinned video with your friends to help spread the word.

Thank you so much! Have a good rest of the weekend -

              Hello backers and followers!

Sometimes when I am sitting at my computer in the early morning, finishing up the first draft of Fae Child, I still can’t quite believe that you all believed in me enough to back my book and secure me a publication deal with Inkshares under their Quill imprint. I am working hard to finish up the book and prepare it for editing. THANK YOU all, so very much, for your support and encouragement.

As you probably already know, I have a second book which I entered into Inkshares’ newest contest, a science fiction novel competition sponsored by Nerdist. While work continues on Fae Child, this contest is a fantastic opportunity for me to line up another book series for publication. The top three books will win full publishing contracts with Inkshares, and at least one will be chosen by Nerdist to join their own imprint, with all the publicity and support that entails.

Mutants: Uprising is currently in the top 3, and I would dearly appreciate your preorder to help me remain in the running to win. There are just 18 days left in the contest, and the rest of the contenders are beginning to up their game and creep up on the leaders. You supported me once, please consider doing it again!

If the contest ends and I do not place, I will not be extending the campaign to try to get to 250 orders and publication that way. I did that for Fae Child, but I don’t have the time to do another long crowdfunding campaign. Mutants: Uprising will return to the backburner and refunds will go out, while I finish up the edits on Fae Child and get the manuscript polished. (Even if I do win, Fae Child will be completed first, so do not worry on that front.)

Thank you so much for your continued support,
              Jane-Holly

"A brilliant concept promising inventive action, compelling characters and an exciting new world, with a unique 2nd-person narrative style. An automatic buy, for me." - Evan Graham, author of Proteus and Tantalus Depths

"X-Men is the obvious link, but the story also kind of strikes me as bring like a mutant version of True Blood. 2nd person POV is a novelty, and in this case well-written. Bought my copy, look forward to reading the finished piece." - Chris Picone, author of Kanimbla

"X-Men and Lovecraft. Two of my fave things in one book, also with a rather unique writing style, makind it stand out from other books I’ve read trying to do the same. Interesting and looking forward to seeing where this ends up!" - Anniken Haga, author of Artificial Generation

                18 days to go!

We are still tied for third place in the Nerdist contest, which is GOOD.

One preorder will put us into third by ourselves. This is BETTER.

Five preorders will place Mutants: Uprising into second place. This is BEST.

If you have already preordered: Thank you! I have an additional favor to ask you. Spread the word about Mutants: Uprising to your friends and get them to preorder as well! Anyone who likes the X-Men movies, or superheroes in general, will enjoy this book.

As the contest draws closer to the end, the competition is heating up. I don’t need 750 preorders to get a full publishing contract from Inkshares and put this book in your hands, I only need to remain in the top 3 of the contest, and you can make this happen!

                Thank you!

"The second I read the description of Jenny Graham-Jones “1000 Faces” I knew I had to have a copy.
