Amanda Orneck liked an update for Monkey Business
Thank you to all 28 of you wonderful people who have left an Amazon review. You are all, to quote the great William Shakespeare, awesome as f**k.

So if you have a few minutes this weekend, leave a review! Be part of the super awesome 100 people who help make this little book a true American classic. Your grandchildren might be reading this book in English class. But only with your help! And only if English class really goes downhill. A boy can dream.

If you’re wondering why reviews are so important, here’s a little bit of info: If you went to Amazon and searched "monkey business" the first week the book was published it was somewhere around 112 down the list of search results. If you do it today it’s the third result. Behind one other business book and a Marilyn Monroe movie. Marilyn Monroe! I’m told if we make it to 100 reviews even more magical things start to happen.

I don’t know what those magical things are but I’m excited to find out!

Amanda Orneck liked an update for Exile, Magus

The weeks continue to be hectic, so going to be another quick one.  First off if you haven’t checked out the short story collection I’m a part of "Too Many Controllers", then be sure to do so before the contest and funding end in about 3 weeks(just click the title above to go there).  Also, while I’m on the topic of projects other than Magus, I recently went on a bit of a spree adding idea pages for some of the other books both in the Exile series and not, that I’ve got at various fragment or even draft stages, so feel free to take a look at those and follow any that interest you.

As for Magus, my art search is currently on standby due to the lack of both time and money, but it will by the middle of July or beginning of August most likely.  I’m still undecided on just when to start the campaign.  Originally I was thinking mid-August or early September for a start time, but now I’m thinking it might be better for me to wait until the start of the year.  I plan to go more into my thinking on this in my next newsletter, as well as to have a poll there so I can get some insight into all of your thoughts as well, so to read that and give feedback be sure to sign up for the newsletter here.

Finally, I’ll be doing a takeover of the "Too Many Controllers"  twitter account tomorrow (6/26) starting around 2pm Eastern time.  I plan to give a bit of insight into both my writing processing, gaming interests/habits, and just the general scattered nature of my brain, so be sure that you’re following @Inkvengers on Twitter if you’re interested in getting such a glimpse into my head.

That’s all I’ve got for this update.  Enjoy the rest of your weekends!

Amanda Orneck liked an update for Destiny Imperfect

        Greetings Destiny-followers,

We’ve reached 100 readers! Thanks to everyone for jumping on board and helping to make this book a reality. I couldn’t do it without you.

Right now, Destiny Imperfect is currently in fourth position and I could do with your help. For this book to be successful, it needs to be in the top three and time is ticking away! No top three, no Destiny :-( If you are following Destiny Imperfect and haven’t pre-ordered, I’d love it if you could. If you have pre-ordered (thanks again!), try and think of someone who would also enjoy the Destiny Imperfect experience and suggest to them (politely) that now would be a great time to jump in and support it!

        Have a great weekend!

        Cheers,

        Peter

Amanda Orneck liked an update for Mission 51

Today has been a memorable one for Mission 51! With the help of super-fan Sally Reed, her family, and our co-workers, Mission 51 received 12 pre-orders in just one day! Our best day yet! WE (all of us together) have now blasted past the half-way mark to Inkshares’ Quill publication services! Just 122 more pre-orders in the next 42 days and this book becomes a reality!

I want to thank each and every one of you for your pre-orders and your words of encouragement! I will keep working hard to continuously improve the book, so when we hit our mark, it will be ready to go. I can’t wait for you to read it! :-)

Our next goal is a fun one! At the 150 pre-order mark, the Mission 51 Raffle kicks in. Those who have purchased one of the first 150 pre-orders will have a chance at an original Idan Carré signed sketch, a study she drew in preparation for a drawing in the book. It is a one-of-a-kind sort of thing, a great memento of our group effort to get Mission 51 off the ground. You will want to be a part of this!

Thanks again, everybody! I am sincerely humbled. I find it a bit overwhelming to be at the receiving end of so much love and support!

Please continue to help pushing Mission 51 to family, friends, and even to perfect strangers. We still have a ways to go and 42 short days in which to do it! Getting this book published by Inkshares is a group effort. You can send your people this link:

          Peace and love to all!

Amanda Orneck liked an update for The Catcher’s Trap

            Dear friends:

Every once in a while, I get an e-mail from Inkshares with the subject line “You’re Selling Books.” Opening those e-mails is like opening a long awaited present. Those e-mails mean that a bookstore has decided to take a chance on my novel, and it will be carrying one or several copies of The Catcher’s Trap.

The first thing I do when I get those e-mails is googling the bookstore,  finding out where is located and then sending them a thank you tweet for taking a chance with a new author.

So far six independent bookstores will be carrying my book: A. C. Vroman, in Pasadena, Ca. Common Good Books, in St. Paul MN. Tattered Cover in Denver CO. Prairie Lights Book, in IOWA City IA, Mysterious Galaxy Books, in San Diego CA and Flyleaf Book, in Chapel Hill NC.

There are over sixteen hundred independent bookstores in the U.S. It would be a dream come true if all of them carry my book, but, in the meantime, I’m thankful for those 6.

Hopefully, a bookstore in my home state of Connecticut will take a chance on me.

I also dream about taking a road trip and visiting every single one of the bookstores carrying my book. So far my map looks like this:

My trip would cover 4 thousand miles and it will take 61 hours of driving. If I’m lucky, and readers love my book as much as I do, many other stops will be added. Maybe I’ll have to take a year off to cover them all. An author can dream, right?

             Have a wonderful weekend!
