Update Time!

So how's the book going?

After the last comp I had to take a break from writing, I burnt myself out big time and it was only just last week that I picked up the keyboard again and got back to actually putting words on pages.

That time wasn't spent entirely idle though, for the last month or two I've been working on getting outlines nailed down for the final chapters, including a flashback chapter that's been a pain in my ass for years, but I think I've finally got it down.

As it stands now the book is closing in on 85,000 words, or about 340 pages. My estimations have me aiming for close to 100k, and I should be able to get it there.

Over the course of the next 5 or so weeks, I'll be finally finishing off these last 4 or 5 chapters to complete the 'first' draft. I'm hoping it doesn't take that long but at the very least by the time this comp is over, the book will be done. That much I know.

And how is the comp going?

So we're a few days into the Nerdist comp now and things are going along nicely. 31 copies have been sold to 17 people already which is well ahead of where the book was at this point last time. Now we just need to push on and take it further.

If you haven't backed 'Ghosts of War' yet here's how you can help:

- If you're a follower who backed the book last time and haven't done so yet this time around, it'd be great if you could again. Every person counts and increases my chances of getting into the top 5.

- If you're a new follower who has yet to back the book I'd love for you to come on board. If you haven't checked out the 8 chapter preview yet, I'd encourage you to do so.

If you've already backed the book, first of all thanks, and second ***VIRTUAL HIGH FIVE***, now here's what you can do to help out:

Networking: The quickest way to get this book over the top is to use our networks, both in real life and online. So tell your friends, share it on your social media networks, corner your coworkers, or talk to some strangers (but be safe about it of course).

Currently Ghosts has 110 followers, if each of us can get 10 people to buy a copy, that's the book funded and then some. Then if those people got some more people on board, well you get the idea, exponential growth and all that good stuff.

I'll be the first to admit that my network is tiny, which is precisely why I'm relying on this exponential growth stuff. I need all the help I can get, and I'm hoping you'll all be kind enough to help my efforts and get this book out to all of you and to the world.

So go forth good people, spread the word, and let's publish this sucker.
