Paul Inman sent an update for Motor City Chronicles - Book One: Transgressions

Hey guys!

I'll TRY to be brief...TRY...

Lots of things have been going on since my last update.

  1. I have finished my first pass at the developmental edits on AGELESS and Lindsay, the editor, was very happy with the changes I made.  There were significant changes.  I cut between 5000-6000 words!  That is a ton of cutting!  But trim the fat right...
  2. The cover of AGELESS is coming together nicely!  We should have something locked down in the very near future!
  3. Inkshares will be changing the way the funding system works this Friday (250 preorders= light publication and 750= full publication with signed paperbacks)!
  4. SO if you haven't preordered at MCC - Book One: Transgressions (click me), now would be a good time.  The preorder cost will go up to $20 on Friday.  Right now you can get in with JUST $10!   Help Pat and I get this book rolling with the new funding goals!
  5. LAST - I WILL BE LIVE ON *CHANGES* THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING.  It's a live GOOGLE HOA where we will talk about lots of different things including AGELESS and MCC - Book One: Transgressions
Thanks guys!
You are all rock stars!

Paul Inman liked an update for She Is the End

    Hm hmm hmm.

    Tra la la.

What? What's that, you say? Something... happened?

Hmm. I suppose I should read the latest message from Inkshares CEO Jeremy Thomas...

    AHHHH! CHANGES ARE COMING!!!

Here's a quick rundown, my dear friends, family, and followers:

New total pre-order goal: 750 instead of 1,000
New tier for "light" publishing (light editing, limited marketing and distribution): 250 pre-orders
New pre-order price: $20 for trade paperback + ebook, $30 for hardcover

There are some other changes, but you should just read the whole announcement to get a sense of what is to come.

I've put 14 years of development and 5 years of writing into this manuscript. Alex is a brutal developmental editor (love you, honey!). I'm so confident in this book, and I really think the light publishing track will produce something that I will be proud of... but I still want to shoot for the gold. I want to reach 750 pre-orders. I want to send you all signed first-edition copies of my gorgeous, illustrated book!

So... onward! If you know of anyone who might want to order my book, tell them to order before Oct 30th at noon to get it at the lower price.

And thank you, really, you who have already ordered. Thank you.

    NOW, AN UPCOMING EVENT:

I have acquired a promoter (who is very enthusiastic and also particularly smart and beautiful). Leah has arranged a reading + costume contest + photo booth + scifi trivia event at Mugshots Coffee Company this Friday night!!! Is it crazy for me to suggest you drive to Minneapolis if you're not from here? I DON'T CARE! Come to this event!

Look at this postcard she made to advertise it:

And she's been making these graphic thingies that are pretty cool, too:

And she even made this author quote thing from that rant I went on in an earlier update!!

Look at all this! Is this what it feels like when people believe in you? This is WEIRD but also COOL and I like it in the sense that I've worked really hard on this book and now people are seeing value in it and talking about it, which is GREAT. But I'm also, you know, hyperventilating with anxiety from all the pressure, hahahahAHAAHAHahahaha. It's all good, don't worry. It doesn't count as bravery if you're not scared.

Thank you, Leah. You're amazing. And the rest of you are amazing, too!

I hope to see you Friday...

Paul Inman liked an update for Ghosts of War

Ladies and gentle men, I come to you with some good news, nay....great news.

Ghosts of War is getting published by Inkshares.

How can this be you ask? Well, today Jeremy Thomas (Inkshares' CEO) announced some changes to the way Inkshares will work going forward and the changes mean only good things for Ghosts of War.

You can read the full blog post about the changes here, and I recommend that you do: http://blog.inkshares.com/post/131749557025/inkshares-funding-goal-announcement

But these are the most important points for right now:

      • Since it is over 250 copies sold, Ghosts of War qualifies for Inkshares' new 'light publishing' option. This is what Inkshares has to say about the new option:

Any project that reaches 250 pre-orders will qualify for the “light-publishing” option with a new, yet-to-be-named Inkshares collection. These books will receive a light edit, an ISBN, and limited distribution (including physical and digital on Amazon.com). Backers will receive physical copies printed through our print-on-demand service. We will reserve the right to push any of these books through our full production process, and as with all of our books, the rights will remain non-exclusive if the author wishes to publish elsewhere.

So that's pretty awesome, but there is a small catch: After October 30th the pre-order prices are going up.

      • From then, it'll be $20 for a paperback and $30 for a hardcover.
      • There will also be a $15 International shipping fee. US shipping will remain free.

Now this bit is all in bold because it's the most important of important things.

If you pre-order a copy of 'Ghosts of War' before October 30 (or have previously pre-ordered a copy), you will still get it for $9.99 with free shipping.

Any copies ordered after that will cost more, so if you've been on the fence about it, please, dive in, especially those of you who are in Australia or other non-US countries. Right now is when you can get the best deal.

In closing, I want to thank every one of you who's ordered a copy so far, you got me here and it's because of you that Ghosts of War is getting published. I can't thank you all enough.

I think it's going to take a while to sink in that this is really happening, but until then...we can have a party.

Whoo-wee, this Inkshares news has me PUMPED. ...It could also partially be the bucket of coffee I've had this morning... :)

Short update again this week. Star Wars themed, due to the very exciting week of Star Wars-y things going on.

Campaign Progress: We passed 250 copies ordered this week. My feelings on this are thus:

The next big milestone is 350 copies (50% of the eBook goal), so if you haven't grabbed a copy yet, I'd like to urge you to do so, or get some friends or colleagues to.

          Every copy helps.

Book Progress: Chugging along. Nearing completion of a new chapter, though my October 31st deadline is looming large. My feelings on this are thus:

(I'm Finn with the blue lightsaber in this instance, the deadline is Kylo Ren)

But fear not (it does lead to the dark side after all), there will be a first draft in some shape or form on October 31. Then edits and revisions will continue during November.

Also, looking ahead, there's been some continued development of story ideas for the sequel to Ghosts of War and it's going in some cool directions. Obviously it's far too early to mention anything just yet, but preliminary work is underway.

          Until next time.

Paul Inman liked an update for An Unattractive Vampire

            Haha. Hahaha. Haha.

I'm just coming off another week of frenetic grad school assignment completion and finally have time to breath and update. And there's a lot to update because apparently, EVERYTHING HAPPENED while I was identifying nominative absolutes in Hemingway. (Show off.)

First of all, frequent visitors may have noticed that the cover has changed.

Apologies if that is huge, I'm technology deficient But come on, isn't it pretty? I hope you like it as much as I do, because it's going to be staring at you from your bookshelf, silently judging your life choices.

            Next up, I discovered this:

            http://www.amazon.com/Unattractive-Vampire-Jim-McDoniel/dp/1941758649/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445397137&sr=8-1&keywords=An+Unattractive+Vampire

My book is on Amazon! And Goodreads! And a bunch of other sites! It's still early days still. They don't, for example, have this shiny new cover up yet. But still, I'm excited.

And finally, what probably most interests you, I finished the copy edit on time. So as far as the material (that will be encased in the glossy majesty seen above) goes, we are right on schedule and your copies will now contain a few less work repetitions and probably make a little more sense.

That's all for now. Uh...hope you all are doing well. (How do you close out one of these things?)

            Bye?
