Anthony Jones III liked an update for Electric Messiah - Lore of the Aos Sí

Man’s Damnation is taking Pre-Orders! Geek and Sundry Contest is at our door!

The time has finally come! I can say that I am as nervous as I am excited. I wanted to let you know that my book, Man’s Damnation, is finally taking pre-orders on Inkshares!

If you are a fan of the concept of Electric Messiah, then you will want to read Man’s Damnation, it is where the story all begins after all! So check out the page, and Pre-Order so I can get my wheels moving on Electric Messiah!

Publishing this book is something I’ve been working towards for a while, and with your help, it can happen. Most of you receiving this message have already been following the draft’s progress and thus potentially know a good deal about the book already. I have spent countless hours building the world, conjuring the characters, and divining the path that they would take. ( I’ll admit the characters were in charge not me )

The Synopsis:

Mankind once lived in harmony with the creator, until Adam’s sin corrupted the world. That is what we are told. It is true, only Adam wasn’t a mere man and the creator wasn’t a God, but the Goddess, Mother of all Creation.

Geek and Sundry Contest

I have also entered the project into the Geek and Sundry Contest that Inkshares is currently running from August 1st to November 1st. That is the exact amount of time I have to convince you that what I have worked tirelessly to achieve is worth not only the dollars spent, but more importantly your time spent reading it!

I am currently putting together a strategy to promote and bring new readers in as well, including running a few contests myself. I will also be giving out insider looks into the world’s lore, history, and the backstories of the characters as the campaign progresses. People who pre-order will have access to new chapters, drafts, updates, and many will receive a signed copy of the book if they choose one of the packages that include a paperback copy.

Why should you invest in this project?

One if you’re a fan of Electric Messiah, this is where the story begins! I realize that it is difficult to spend hard earned money on an unproven author, and I can’t even assure you that you will enjoy the novel, that would be hubris. What I can tell you is that if you haven’t fallen in love with the world I have so painstakingly created by the end of it, then I only have more work to do.

How will I sweeten the deal?

Well some of the original artwork created by Erik Stitt will be up for grabs throughout the campaign. You can see a lot of the artwork on the Facebook Page along with updates about lore, history, and culture on the Wikia Page. I will have tons of extra content from the world of Tír na nÓg, as I have not only spent over 10,000 hours researching but probably double that time in WorldBuilding. This will be more than just a book. It will be a world you can sink your teeth into! Basically lots of goodies!

Lastly, I want to engage with my Readers! Let me know what you think, what you like, what you hate, etc.

Here is what the Critics are saying about Man’s Damnation:

“I like your no nonsense style. Every word has its place and you don’t waste time painting pretty pictures of scenery or creating false drama. The story is straightforward, easy to follow, and sets up the adventure nicely. I’m hooked”. ~Bryn Hagan - Author of The Bully Book

“Always great to have a world rich with lore and myth come to life. The author has clearly thought about the creatures of his world and crafted them with care. I think the conflict between the world and the characters within it are compelling and help bring the narrative to life. Also, by having this bolstered by great imagery helps keep the pages turning.” ~Stephen Carignan - Author of The Sleeping Man

“A writer that clearly knows what he wants in his universe and lore is truly awe-inspiring. Whether it’s something as simple as a character’s past that oozes from in-between the lines or is blatantly explained, it’s simply beautiful.” ~ L.V. - Author of The Vatheran Prologue

I’d love your support!

Cheers

I understand that this should have been noted before the contest began. But by giving those authors that contributed to the Nerdist contest with Too Many Controllers and won a contest already a free pass this go around to enter this one - it kinda feels like this contest is already over and somewhat pointless to enter lol.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to enter, but Rick Heinz(First place) already has almost 40 preorders and people are already declaring him the hands-down favorite.

Andre Bun(2nd place) already has 24 preorders - also part of the Inkvengers squad and going strong.

The same can be said about Thomas J. Arnold in third place with Exile, Magus - also was a part of that collaboration.

That means the only qualifying spots are already being dominated to the point of practically being run-aways and the contest is only a day old. It’s a bit daunting for new writers trying to get their fantasy book published to already be that far behind on day 2 due to their(obviously potent) following from the last contest.

I wish nothing but the best and a lot of success for all of the Inkvengers - but with the following they seem to have on this site alone, I’m not sure these contests are something these writers really need. They’re already getting published in Too Many Controllers and have already built quite the following.

This post doesn’t necessarily apply to me as I’ve already self-published a book myself(though a win in this contest would be a huge turning point for me), I’m more concerned about the newer writers wanting to contribute to these contests and the overall future of the Inkshares site in general.

Just my 2 cents, not trying to step on any toes, just trying to add to the ideas/conversation and look out for the little people.

Anthony Jones III liked an update for Rune of the Apprentice

      Apprentices and Masters,

So very excited to say that on Saturday I had my first LIVE TV INTERVIEW! So amazing!

Click HERE to watch! It was such a surreal experience and I was so nervous! But everyone at FOX45 was super friendly! They had received an advance copy and many had already read RUNE! I was blown away by the reception I got! SO FREAKING COOL!

Speaking of freaking cool, another blurb for RUNE just came in, too! Check it out!

"Within just a few moments of beginning to read Rune, I was immediately drawn into the adventurous, magical world that Jamison Stone has created―my heartbeat pulsed, my breath grew shallow, my fingers trembled as I leap from page to page―and this was all in merely the first chapter! Stone has hit it out of the ballpark with this book, and you will not want to put it down. An epic read indeed." ―Ben Greenfield, New York Times bestselling author of Beyond Training

I am so humbled by all the positive feedback I am getting for RUNE and SO EXCITED for everyone to get their copies! (If you want to check out all of the other blurbs click HERE.)

In other news: Geek & Sundry is hosting another contest, and this time it’s Fantasy!

MANY people have asked if I am going to submit RUNE’s sequel into the contest, and my answer is a definitive NO. And here is why: I feel Inkshares contests should be to raise awareness to NEW authors, not ones with a strong following. The reason I was able to publish RUNE, and have the courage to take a leap into crowd funding, is because I knew that the Nerdist contest would be a fair(ish) playing ground, and although I did not win, RUNE is now Inkshares’ #3 top selling book in Fantasy, despite still being in pre-orders!

So, no, I am not entering the contest--Instead, I am going to support NEW authors who come onto the Inkshares platform and hopefully enable someone unknown, like I was, get their chance to shine! To that end, if anyone fits that description and wishes their book to be featured on my blog just tweet me @StoneJamison and we will make it happen!

Truly exciting times for RUNE and Inkshares and I am so happy to be sharing it with you!

p.s. Next week I will be in Seattle’s KeyArena for the DOTA International Convention and Championship! I will be there for the ENTIRE event (8+ days!) Follow me on Twitter @StoneJamison for live updates of all the excitement! It will be EPIC! #GGWP

People with established support bases are always going to have an easier time of it than people who are just getting started. That’s kind of inevitable for a contest like this. But don’t let yourself believe it’s a forgone conclusion that someone will win a competition just because they have a large readerbase, or because they’ve won them in the past. When I entered the hard sci-fi competition with Tantalus Depths, I had no existing support base whatsoever and hadn’t been on this site before, AND I entered almost a month into the contest. Sure I didn’t win, but I worked my way up to within a dozen pre-orders of taking fourth place, and now I’m only 90 pre-orders from hitting full publishing. In the end, it all comes down to how much work you put into your campaign. You can be a complete beginner and still run laps around veterans if you’re willing to work harder than they are.
