It was early September in the town of Hillsbury. Labor Day weekend, the final long weekend before school returned and the summer tourists departed for the year, was the busiest for the town. Hillsbury was cottage country; families would travel upwards of ten hours to stay in their wood cabins, or the luxurious campsites that had recently been upgraded to provide up to fifteen sites with electricity and new picnic tables to surround the pits used for campfires, for the summer months.
It . . .
FRIDAY!
Hurray! And today marks the 1 week anniversary of pre-orders! Up to 44 pre-orders so far! Thank you so much for everyone who has pre-ordered, followed, and recommended Cape’s Side Bay! It really means a great deal to me. You’re currently my favorite people on the planet.
We still have a long way to go to get to our goal, but with some hard work, some word of mouth, and maybe even some bribing, I’m confident we will get there!
When we hit 50 pre-orders the remainder of the draft of FRIDAY EVENING will be posted, and after that only those who pre-order Cape’s Side will be able to read the fifth Chapter, FRIDAY NIGHT, before the books publication!
Let’s put our best foot forward and get there. The campaign is a long one but please don’t hold out!
I’ll leave you for the weekend with the watercolour on the temp cover of the book, without the photoshopping.
Please pass word along to everyone you know who may be interested in Cape’s Side Bay, or even if they’re not but they wanna support something awesome! ;)
Cheers to a great weekend!
James
Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well!
Pre-orders are rolling in! I’m very happy and very thankful for all of you and all of your help! We’ve hit 14% of our Quill goal and 4% of the full-publishing goal (thank you inkshares for that stat!)
I’ve got some revising to get back to, I planned on getting some done yesterday but after the one-two punch of Star Wars arriving on blu ray and the launch/Twitter takeover of Asteroid Made of Dragons by G. Derek Adams, I slowed a bit!
We’ve still got a long way to go and a long time to get there. The good news is I love writing and I love this book, so it’s all very much worth it!
Sadly I don’t have any sketches to show you today. Bummer.
I’ll be looking to upload more from FRIDAY EVENING soon. Maybe when we hit 50 pre-orders that will be a good time for that.
As always please spread the word of Cape’s Side Bay! And if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet but want to, you can do so here.
Enjoy the rest of your day,
James
It’s Monday!
Last week at this time I sent out an update saying Cape’s Side Bay would launch Pre-Sales at the end of the week. And now, one week later, I’m ecstatic! 31 pre-orders in 3 days, that exceeded my expectations! Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered their copy, and thank you for believing in me and in Cape’s Side Bay. If you haven’t had a chance to do so yet please pre-order! Whales depend on it. Not really, but I’m sure something other than my sanity depends on it!
I spent the weekend working, spending time with family, and revising the manuscript. I love where it’s at. It needs some tweaking here and there but as a whole I really believe in Cape’s Side Bay and cannot wait for you all to read it.
I hope you like the new water colour book cover sketched and painted by a good friend of mine.
Once again a big thank you all who have pre-ordered, thank you to those who have shared and recommended, and thank you to all of you who are going to pre-order! It certainly means a lot to a big kid with an even bigger imagination.
Have a great day!
James
