Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for U-Turn at Next Synapse

I have not been too diligent on these updates. Not by a long shot. So, the book is going, to say the least. Found out a few hours ago that the manuscript I thought was sent on May 4th, was in fact not properly attached. Yep, I forgot to attach it before hitting send.

It is currently in very capable hands, getting the love and attention it truly needs right now. I have someone looking at the overall content and structure of my story. After this, I will then hand it off to Inkshares, and then the copy editing can begin. The final draft before submission was sent on May 4th, and let me tell you, the 4th was strong with me that day. To have realized that I botched the attachment on Friday the 13th also serves as quite the coincidence.

Besides all of that, I will be meeting with a comic artist to discuss possibly adding a graphic element to aid in the telling of my story. The goal for U-Turn, in the nearest future available, is a graphic novel treatment. Seeing these characters broken, bloody, and lost on pages of ink and color will be the right way to go. I very much sit at the edge of my seat for this day to come. Speaking of graphics and pretty pictures, I have created a cover I am extremely happy with. You can view that on the book’s FB page: HERE

It sums up the essence and sheer drive of what crossing the proverbial synapse means in my novel. The character literally is melting into his own psychosis until he is just another washed away puddle of the road.

Oh! I won a contest, an Inkshares subscriber contest. That is right, you read that correctly. I was thrown into the drawing of a fancy shirt and mug for pre-ordering Tal M Klein’s hard scifi, The Punch Escrow . I won. I won! How sweet it is. His book, it is going to be amazing, and has been the top runner for Geek and Sundry. I would say more, but I do not want to risk having this post shut down by International Transport.

So, there you go. You have been updated. The time is 4:33 AM and I sigh at the fact that I forgot to put away my leftover Mediterranean chicken sandwich. I really would not like to throw it out. It should still be good. Yep, still cold. Score. Lunch is saved...for now.

One last thing, if anyone reading this is interested in checking out a little more of my hell bent thrill ride, give yourself a treat by purchasing a copy. You shant regret it.

Checkmate and Rummy my dear gladiators.

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Ageless

Below are some fun pics I wanted to share with you guys from the launch for Ageless! Thanks for coming out! Remember - those reviews will always be needed! So keep ’em coming as you finish reading!

DragonCon is a yearly event in Atlanta and this year for their 30th anniversary they’ve decided to create their own awards for SciFi and Fantasy called, what else, The Dragon Awards! If you enjoyed Ageless consider nominating me for an award. (Alternate History or Military SciFi would be the categories most like Ageless, yeah it’s hard to categorize).

Maybe consider any of the books from the original Sword & Laser Contest, we are all eligible! Wouldn’t it be cool to see one of us get a nod for our work?

    Ageless - Paul Inman

An Unattractive Vampire - Jim McDoniel

Asteriod Made of Dragons - G. Derek Adams

Practical Applications for Multiverse Theory - Nick Scott & Noa Gavin

The Life Engineered - JF Dubeau

All, thank you for the support.

Based on some of the  great feedback I have received I have revised the first 3 chapters to tighten them up and improve the plot. They are now up on Inkshares.

As the Geek and Sundry Hard Science Fiction contest is winding down in only a few days I want to thank everyone that has supported me in this project. The response and feedback were great. I appreciate how friends and family have come out to support me and how people I do not know have embraced my first efforts into becoming an author.

I also want to thank the teams at Inkshares and Geek and Sundry for holding this contest, I have learned a lot.

I would like to also thank Purple Toga for their support in this project. Some of the competitors are offering mug or t-shirts, but Purple Toga is offering a free book with pre-orders of mine.  Details are at www.purpletoga.com/deals

Thank you all again, and good luck to my competitors.

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Mission 51

I have essentially completed the chapter previously titled "Mat." The name of the chapter has now changed to "Mat and Dirk," though who knows, it may change again on a fickle whim. ;-)

The first two parts of the book serve to establish Mat’s "humanity." (Picture me doing big air quotes with my fingers.) It has been fun doing that, and I really want you to be able to read it some day. But I don’t think I will upload this chapter. In fact, from now on I may be just uploading excerpts instead of entire chapters, you know, to build  suspense/anticipation and stuff.

The fun really builds after the crash at the end of the second part of the story. That you really don’t want to miss, and I really won’t be uploading any more chapters from the third part of the book!

So just help ease my anxiety and place your pre-order, so the book sees the light of day, and you get to read about the crazy shit that happens to Mat!

If you have already pre-ordered, again I thank you, and ask you to:

        • point a friend this way, or
        • write a review, or
        • make an Inkshares recommendation, or
        • all of the above.

I do believe that together we can reach the 250 pre-order mark to get Mission 51 published.

        Thank you, everyone!

        Peace and love!

        Ferd. :-)

          Well.

          It’s been a good run.

Thank you to those who have supported this project. We will continue to work the manuscript, and it shall return. It will revert back to a draft and we will relaunch in the future.

Cam and the crew will continue.

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Tears of the Assassin

Hey Everybody. I wish to thank everyone for their support for Tears of the Assassin. The campaign will officially come to an end this Saturday May 14th. I know there are some followers out there that wanted to place an order in order to get an original signed copy of the book on its first printing and those folks should place their pre order before the end of the day on Saturday.

Any others considering supporting the campaign in its original version, I will thank you very much for your order. I hope everyone who reads this has a wonderful weekend. Thank you

Brian and Michelle Guthrie liked an update for Beyond The Code

              Greetings you magnificent human beings,

Today is the last day of the campaign so I thought I’d take a minute to thank you all for carrying Beyond the Code to Quill. I’ll do my best in forging through the mostly unknown (to me) world of publishing to bring you the best book Beyond the Code can be.

The selling campaign of Beyond the Code was started kind of by accident before I was really prepared but I always strived to do the best I could. Thank you for your patience and support as I stumbled like a drunken four year old through the world of crowd funding. Your kindness and pulling together to help me with my dream has touched my heart in a way you couldn’t imagine.

We are at 257 orders so I’ll let you what. If we make it to 260 orders by the end of this campaign I will post the next chapter and I’ll do another prize draw to end things off right.

Thank you all again for bringing me this far. I’ll keep you posted on what comes next. Brave new world.
