Hi folks! We'll be putting our time in this weekend with reviews, but as we're not quite at the funding stage ourselves, we still wanted to reach out and see if you could give us a spin in the review or the recommendation department. If you've already done so, we toast flagons of murky mead in your honor - if  not, here's a quick list of why you might want to check it out!

-          Zombies, Knights and Witches. Is there anything else you need to know?

-          Our witches are called “Gravewalkers”…and their magic system is derived from emotions, which is why they’re super-cool and super-freaking powerful around graveyards and cemeteries.

-          It’s also a twist on traditional necromancy…  and how different undead creatures could be created.

-          Our bard is definitely NOT your usual bard of lore.

-          If you loved the DnD setting of Ravenloft, this is basically Ravenloft in Medieval Germania.

-          At the end of the day, it’s still just about a dad trying to reconnect with his long-lost daughter.

Hi my (presumable) fellow nerds! Guess what's coming up sooner than soon?

If you guessed the Review-a-Thon, you'd be right but WHO CARES

I'M TALKING ABOUT STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

    OBVIOUSLY

KSSSH! KSHHH! We're having daily light saber (or, "life saver" if you're three) duels at my house, my husband has dissolved into a pile of references, behind-the-scenes articles, and a complete re-write of Return of the Jedi (CAN'T WAIT TO READ IT HONEY), and I am just trying to STAY ON TARGET with all this stuff I'm doing.

I'm not sure if I'll be coherent on Saturday. We'll see.

But then we'll have the Review-a-Thon, and so I must tell you all about it!

There's a facebook event now! GO JOIN IT AND THEN INVITE PEOPLE!

Guess who's lined up for interviews during the livestream you'll be able to watch on youtube?

Jeyna Grace of The Battle for Oz and The Slave Prince!

Jim McDoniel of An Unattractive Vampire!

    Jeremy Thomas, CEO of Inkshares!

John Robin of Blood Dawn and the Epic Fantasy Syndicate!

    ...and Gary Whitta of Abomination!

We're also going to be reading some reviews posted that very day, listing off our top fave books in the Sword & Laser: Electric Boogaloo competition, and maybe even reading a scene from the screenplay of Dax Harrison by Tony Valdez!

I'm sending out the review assignments Friday morning, so if you want in on the review exchange email me at cara.c.weston@gmail.com soon.

And in the meantime... may the Force be with you.

      Hello friends!

This is the update you have all been waiting for - even though you didn't know it! We have the magical release of the movie style video TRAILER for The Last Machine.

I originally wanted to drop this on New Year's Day. But it is simply too epic to hold back for two weeks. I just couldn't do it. Would require far too much willpower.

I must thank Yicheng Liu for his unbelievable and shockingly fast work putting this together. Please check out his novel The Remains of Civilization and send a pre-order his way.

I also want to thank Melissa Berg and Vincent Lim once again for their wonderful reviews, which are included in the trailer.

At the bottom of this update, I've credited the free source material that was used in this video, which can be used by others as well.

Go check the video out on the homepage; you'll be glad you did. I can't stop watching. Just too much fun.

OK, and quickly we have a couple of other quick items to hit on. First, the winner of the 40th reader raffle is Nichole Costa! Nichole, you will be receiving a signed and framed illustrated poem. Congratulations!

Lastly, I want to thank everybody again for the amazing support during this Sword & Laser campaign. The last few days have really shown widespread support for this story, from people I know personally, to my fellow authors. It's truly gratifying. We now have 48 readers and 99 followers. That means two more readers before our special 50th reader raffle. So get in the door while you can! And I'm thinking up something for the 60th reader. It'll be great, like the trailer. I promise.
