    IT IS OFFICIAL!

"Shadow King" has passed the Quill funding goal and will be published by Inkshares! I literally just clicked the "join" button to become part of the Quill Collection.

    Thank you!

When I entered the Launchpad Competition last year, I never imagined this is where I would be. Honestly, I just thought it would be great to get feedback from the judges. Then, Shadow King was named to the Launchpad Top 75 list and made it all the way to the Top 10. That opened the door, but it is thanks to all of you, to every single person who took a chance on an unpublished book and put in an order, that I’m able to send this note today. The support has been absolutely amazing and I am grateful for it.

    What’s next?

I don’t have a release date, but I understand from Inkshares that there are several Quill books in the queue for editing services ahead of me, so it is likely it will be a month (and perhaps a bit more) before I turn in my manuscript. Publishing timelines differ a little between Quill and full publishing, and this blog post will give you an idea of what the full publishing timeline looks like. So, it will still be a little bit before you have Shadow King in your hands.

In the meantime, I’ll be doing one more review of the manuscript before I turn it in and working on getting more sales and more exposure. Also, I’ll be getting a vastly improved cover thanks to the excellent efforts of Charlene Maguire at www.shapeshifterstudios.com. I’m really excited about the concept she’s come up with and I think you’ll love it, too!

I’ll send another update when there’s news to report, but in the meantime, if any of you have questions for me, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can reach me through the Inkshares platform or at my email: susankhamilton@yahoo.com.

    Take care!

    Susan

      Dear Readers,

I’m writing today to ask you to support a fellow Inkshares and Portland, Oregon writer and friend, Jane-Holly Meissner. She is the author of Fae Child, which can be pre-ordered at https://www.inkshares.com/books/fae-child.

Fae Child is the story of Abbie, a young girl who is accidentally taken into the fairy world by a fairy boy. The plot thickens as we traverse both Abbie’s adventures in the fairy world and her parents’ dismay at finding their daughter has been replaced with a changeling. This book has an ethereal, other world quality to it that reminds me of both Alice in Wonderland and Taken where two worlds clash. Although designed as a YA and teen read, this book is delightful for all. I’m talking to you, Harry Potter fans.

Fae Child has won FOUR syndicate awards, which is amazing, but is still 82 pre-orders away from being published. There are only two weeks left to help Jane-Holly achieve her dream of being published. For only $10, you can get an e-book to read or gift to others. For $20, you can get a signed paperback copy.

Let’s make this happen! I can’t wait to receive my copy!

      Cheers, Debbie

        Two weeks to go!

If you haven’t ordered your copy of FAE CHILD your time is running out! I am so grateful and excited to report that the Fantasy Syndicate here on Inkshares has picked FAE CHILD as their book for February 2017. This is an amazing honor and I don’t want to let anyone down who has put their faith in me and my little book. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. :)

To recap: 2 weeks to go, 82 copies to sell. I’ll update again as we get closer to the deadline!

        Much love, Jane-Holly

Hey, gang! It’s been a while. But I’ve kept myself busy! Let’s catch up some, shall we?

1st - Too Many Controllers was pulled from production for reasons beyond our control, but you can already find some of the stories from those amazing authors elsewhere on the webz. (Before you ask, if you invested, yes, refunds will be coming soon, so I’m told)

"So, what’s that mean for your short story, "1989?"

Glad you asked. I am currently working on plans to expand it into a longer tale. Right now I’m not sure if that means a novella (a short novel or long short story) or a full-length novel, but I’ll let you know as soon as I know.

2nd - I’ve been working on Timeless (working title), the indirect sequel to Ageless. I have planned the entire story and it seems to be turning into a full-length novel. I was hoping for something along the lines of a novella. But, alas, it seems that the life of Eugene will not be abridged. Things have been going well with the writing. I am about halfway through the first act with hopes of finishing the first draft by April. Follow the Inkshares draft page HERE.

And here’s the placeholder cover too!

3rd - I have a goal for 2017 to write one short story a month unrelated to any other thing I’m doing. I wrote one in January with the hope of giving it to you guys for free. But it needs a LOT of love, so maybe I’ll hold off on giving them out until they have seen a good bit of revision. I already have my idea for this month’s story. I’m eager to get it out of my head. Incidentally, the January one has a working title of "Cause & Effect."

4th - Happy Valentines Day! Much love to all who have supported this crazy dream of mine. Thanks!

Still pressing forward.  This immorta history is full of elephants, dragons, tigers, religious extremism, one-eyed rebels, warrior queens, alliances, betrayals and more things than I can even get into right now.  Thank you for your continued support.

Craig A. Munro liked an update for It’s All Fun and Games

              Hi Everyone!

It’s February 13, so happy birthday to me!  The universe gave me a birthday gift in the form of at least 2 feet of snow on the ground and a snow day at the University.  Yay!

Of course I’m writing to you not about my birthday, but about some news I’d like to share.  I’ve finished my first editing pass through “More Fun and Games,” the sequel to “It’s All Fun and Games!”  I hadn’t even looked at it since penning it during NaNoWriMo back in 2011, and I’m pleased to announce that it’s a fun little story, with quite a few twists and turns.  The story follows the friends to the busy streets of Providence City as they make their way east and attempt to establish alliances to help them on their quest.

I do all the editing by hand on paper, and then I go back to the computer to input all the changes, working through wording and making other edits as I go.  This acts as a second full editing pass.  Once all the writing has been cleaned up (and some of it was pretty messy), I’ll then turn to think about bigger structural and story continuity issues that may need to be addressed.  Only once that has been done will I start seriously looking at how to bring the book to market.

I’ve been at it for about a month now, and finally finished, so wanted to share.  I’m proud of the story and can definitely see it turning into something everyone will enjoy.

              And now some announcements -

I’ll have a table at the Bangor Toy and Comic Con at the Cross Center over Memorial Day weekend, so if you’re in the area, feel free to stop on by and say hello!

More immediately, I’ll be at TotalCon at its new home in Marlborough, MA the weekend of February 25th, mostly playing in the Pathfinder Society area.  Again, feel free to say hi!

Lastly, since it’s my birthday, if you wanted to give me a present, head over to Amazon or Goodreads and leave me a review!  I’m up to nearly 80 on Amazon, averaging 4.6 stars.  I’d love to break the 100 review barrier!

Some of you folks may get this twice, once from Inkshares and once from my own mailing list.  I apologize for the spam, but am trying to be more savvy about marketing stuff and getting more eyeballs on my posts.

Thanks again for all your support!

Craig A. Munro liked an update for Deus Hex Machina

                Greetings hexers,

It’s been a while since I pinged you all and I thought I’d give a quick update on what is happening in my neck of the words (pun intended).

Firstly I just finished the first draft of a fantasy short story entitled "Aebrin’s Song". I’m letting it percolate for a few weeks before I head into editing. Meanwhile I have begun the planning phase of the sequel to Deus Hex Machina. The first step was to come up with ideas for a title, After much deliberation and a ton of help from friends, I’m happy to announce that the title to the second book in the series will be:

Planning a book is an exhilarating experience, and I am incredibly happy to get a chance to apply all I’ve learned in the last year to this new chapter in Isidore RAM’s life. If you are as excited as I am about this book, feel free to follow it here on Inkshares. I’ve got some character profiles up and will be adding more info as I go.

On the DHM front, I am still waiting for word from Inkshares on when production will start. Once I have more information I’ll let you know.

                Have a great Tuesday and

                may the code replicate eternal

Well, I was nearly floored today.

I want to thank The Snarky Dark Fantasy Syndicate for backing Wake up Call. It meant the world to me and I don’t know what to say.

You are all wonderful people and I will not let you down.
