Very exciting news in this rare (oh so rare) readers update! As of a few minutes ago, The Fable Hunt made it into the Top 10 of the Nerdist Contest!
We're only a few readers (okay 1 reader) above the book 11th place, but it's still very exciting! The contest has 7 more days to go, and I'm feeling a new sense of enthusiasm. Here's where I am in terms of other awesome The Fable Hunt related things:
It would be awesome to continue climbing the ranks of the contest but I need your help. Please ask someone you know to pre-purchase a copy (or ten I'm not picky). Here's a sample email you could send and a sample tweet you could use to share it with your followers on social media if you're feeling particularly generous.
Sample e-mail:
Hi Friend! I know you love to read, and I have a great book for you to check out. The Fable Hunt is about a couple of readers and a couple of book fairies trying to save the very future of literature and storytelling. Go read the first couple pages on Inkshares, and pre-order a copy if you like what you see. The Fable Hunt is part of a contest to win publication and distribution from Inkshares and Nerdist.com, and every pre-order counts towards the goal. Please give it a shot!
Sample tweet:
. @bookoisseur's The Fable Hunt is available for pre-order! There are book fairies in it & YOU should buy one. https://www.inkshares.com/projects/the-fable-hunt
Thanks so much for all your support! I can't wait to share the next chapter with you all!

Quick second update…Inkshares dropped an update about the 11-20 ranked books in the contest. It includes 3point8 and a little info on why I’m writing it. Check it out!
Hello. My name is Michael Melilli. You followed or pre-ordered my book. Prepare to be updated.
Not a ton of news but I wanted to check in and give you all an update on how 3point8 is doing. Currently it’s sitting pretty solidly at number 13…that’s really impressive when you consider that there are over 300 submissions.
That said, the top 5 spot is what wins the contest and gets the book published. I won’t lie, that goal is quite a ways off. As of this writing, we’d need 197 unique readers to pre-order in order to break back into the top 5 (and that gap grows daily). It’s a pretty big number (we currently have 156 readers) but not impossible…anyone have 197 friends who love to read?
44 new readers would get us back into the top 10 which would be fantastic (the top 10 get featured weekly by Inkshares).
So let’s have a hard conversation, what happens if we don’t win the contest? Is all lost? Not at all. Inkshares’ usual way of publishing is based on copies ordered. Currently, 3point8 has 246 copies pre-ordered (giant thanks to everyone who ordered multiple copies). If we don’t win the contest, we still have till November 29th to hit either the 750 copy goal or the 1,000 copy. 750 means an e-book only release while 1,000 means an e-book and physical book release.
So there’s still hope…and if Inkshares doesn’t work out, I won’t give up on 3point8. We’ll just need to look at other options.
Thanks again to everyone for their support, it means the world to me.
Spread the word!
Good Morning Everyone,
Thank you all for your support, following, and pre-orders. We're in the final week now. I'm in the top 100 which is great considering how many submissions there have been. It shows how much I have between the writing community, friends, family, and fans.
In this last week, I'd very much appreciate it if you shared my book out once more, helped raise awareness, and pre-order the book if you haven't already.
Have a great morning and hope to not disappoint you all and win in this final charge.
Thomas A. Fowler
