CAPE’S SIDE BAY COMING 2021
For everyone who has supported Cape’s Side Bay I would like to once again thank you! It has been a long time since this book began it’s Inkshares journey.

My goal was not to begin crowdfunding (selling) the book on the site until it was completely written. When the book was complete in 2014 I began my page on Inkshares, and began taking pre-orders.  I knew the book would go through several stages of editing even after hitting my goal, but I also knew I had a finished book and so there was no intent on anyone waiting long for their copy of Cape’s Side Bay.

It has been six years. Crazy to think. Inkshares has change a lot during these years, at one point the book would not be published properly by the site, then that changed in 2016 when they held a contest and Cape’s Side Bay finished first.

The book over the past two years has gone through several edits and revisions and I am very happy with where it stands. Maybe a few more changes (small) along the way, but I have recently spoken to Adam Gomolin the CEO of Inkshares, and I have been told Cape’s Side Bay will be published Spring/Summer 2021.

If you have not ordered yet you can do so right here: https://www.inkshares.com/books/cape-s-side-bay?referral_code=4cd2117e

I am sorry it has taken this long, and there is still some time. It is a process, I just sincerely hope you all enjoy the book when you finally have it in your hands!

Thank you,
James

Meghan Godwin liked an update for Curio Citizen
    Hello all!
I hope everyone is well during these bizarre and difficult times. My family and I have been doing our part by sheltering-in-place since March and wearing masks during trips to the grocery store. I didn’t know I would become a home-school teacher all of a sudden, but we’re making it work! I’m optimistic that we can all get through this if we stick with recommended safety measures, and I hope you all stay safe and well!
Despite the general life upheaval, "Curio Citizen" and other aspects of my writing career are going great! I am about to turn in my newest draft of "Curio Citizen," and I will keep the updates coming as the project progresses. I am confident that each round of edits is improving the story, and I’m excited to share it with you all.
I am also thrilled to announce that back in January, my dark fantasy novel "Lodestone" got a traditional publishing deal! In my last update, I mentioned that I was querying publishers and agents, and my hard work and persistence paid off. In addition, I recently found out that "Lodestone" was a Top 25 Finalist in the Launch Pad Manuscript Competition after being assessed by a panel of judges from the film/tv entertainment industry.
I’d LOVE to fill you all in on the many projects I have going on, (including a short ghost story that will be included in a horror anthology this fall), so I invite you to follow my author accounts on social media. I will be creating an email newsletter soon for those who prefer updates that way. I will continue to post all "Curio Citizen"-related updates here as well.
If you choose to follow one (or more) of my social media accounts, you’ll be just in time for "Lodestone"’s cover reveal next week! Let me just say that the artwork is AMAZING, and I’m excited for an April 2021 release.
Thank you once again for your continued interest and support! I love you all!

Hooray! I’ve just sent off my most recent draft!

I have spent the last three months working and tweaking this draft based on the editorial letter I received in February.

I don’t know about you, but March was lost for me. It took me a minute to pull myself away from the news and will some semblance of normalcy back into my life. And I’m not alone, almost overnight, every one of us had to re-make lives we had grown accustomed to.

The idea of sitting down to wax on poetically (or not so poetically) about a world I made up with imaginary characters seemed absurd as large chunks of the real world broke off and fell away from the assumed normal. It took me until April to rally. (and really, how much can one person drink and watch the news?) I turned off the TV, put timers on my apps, and got down to the business shaping this fourth draft. And here we are!

I expect have some feedback by the end of the summer. I’ll keep you posted when I do.

This is a weird time. Take care of yourself and those around you.

      Gratefully,

      Meghan Godwin

        Dearest Supporters,

I have not sent out an update via Inkshares for a long while, preferring instead to send newsletters and blog posts through my website, deborahmunroauthor.com, but some of you are not on those mailing lists, so hello! How have you been? I know we are living in challenging times, and I hope you’re getting the support and companionship you need. I am well, living in virus-free New Zealand, and finally done with lockdown. I am definitely feeling like I’m on a remote island in the South Pacific these days with the borders closed, no international travel allowed, and my daughters reaching important milestones without me present (graduation from a Master’s degree program, birthdays, new jobs, joint vacation plans, and more), but all is well, and I am safe. My daughters are safe, too, and we’ve found new ways to connect, including an online version of Pictionary which is quite fun.

My big news is that I took this period of time over lockdown to finish restructuring and editing my novel, APEX. It is now out with my beta readers for feedback and comments, and then it will be off to my amazing editor at Inkshares, Sarah Nivala. They will give the new, more exciting and action packed version of my book a read, and then hopefully bless it for me to incorporate minor edits and move onto the next phase of production! Who knew it would take over three years to get to this point? I certainly had no idea! It’s been a huge growth opportunity for me, especially in the management of frustration department. Creating a work of written art is way harder than I ever imagined.

I’d love to hear from all of you, so feel free to reply to this email or separately via dmunro@deborahmunroauthor.com and update me on your life, your latest project, or anything else.

        Be well, Debbie

          Hello Friends!

I hope your holidays were happy and that you are crushing your 2020 goals!

My 2019 goal was to finish my recent draft by Octo-vember. I did manage to finish by Dec 4th.

I then sat on it for a few weeks before re-reading it from start to finish. This may have been my undoing.
After much fiddling, I finally turned it over Monday night. It’s in the queue!

Thanks for continuing to stick it out with me,
          Meghan Godwin

            Hello friends,

            WE DID IT! 759 PRE-ORDERS!

It’s truly humbling to know that so many people support my memoir. The success of this campaign means: The book will be published and (for now) you won’t get any more solicitations from me. I will be doing another round of pre-orders once the book is up on Amazon (and other retailers) and it has an official release date.

I am SO excited to publish this book. The next step is for me to send the manuscript to the publisher and hopefully we’ll have a release date for the book soon.

I want to thank EACH and EVERY person who ordered the book and shared it. I could not have done this without you. Thank you again for your support, and I will keep everyone updated as I have more information.
