Colin Andersen sent an update for Through Hell

Hey all. As you may or may not have seen, Through Hell  has officially run through its time here on Inkshares and, despite all your amazing efforts, did not meet the publishing goal. Before I say anything, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to you every single person that pre-ordered a copy, spread the word or, hell, even just looked at my page. I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. I also want to remind you that none of you should be charged a cent even if you pre-ordered since the book didn't meet the goal. If you do happen to see a charge from Inkshares related to my book for some reason, let me know and I'll try and work with Inkshares to figure it out, but this shouldn't happen.

Anyway, while this is a slight bummer, it also wasn't unexpected; I'm an unknown author putting up a draft of his first novel. It's no real surprise that 1000 people didn't bite on that. For me, this was more an exercise in putting my work out there, in making it something "real" and more than just a side project. Putting Through Hell on here and getting feedback from so many people really helped that happen, and that was easily the most important thing I could get from this experience. And rest assured, just because Through Hell isn't being published right at this moment, doesn't mean it never will be. I intend to work harder than ever on getting this book into your hands as soon as I'm able. Once I finish up my current round of edits, I will be exploring every option available to me to make sure that you are eventually able to read my work in its entirety. In fact, I recently finished the first draft of its sequel, so that hopefully gives you an idea of how seriously I'm taking this.

So once again, please just let me express my gratitude to you all: Thank you so, so much. I'll make sure to let everyone know when Through Hell is inevitably published.

Sincerely,

Colin Andersen

Colin Andersen sent an update for Through Hell

    Hey all,

So it's a little later than originally planned, but Chapter Four is officially up on the page! I hope you all enjoy it. This is where Clara's (and the others') journey really starts and we finally get see how these people interact with each other without the guiding hand of Satan to keep them together (how's that for a weird sentence?). Sorry it took longer than planned, but once again life intervened. Rest assured that I have been plugging away not only on Though Hell, but also it's sequel. What? Sequel? That's right! Not only is Through Hell finally closing in on its final edits, by my hands at least, but I'm very nearly finished writing the first draft of the second book. If having a sequel to read isn't good motivation to help me get Through Hell published, then I don't know what is!

In other exciting news, just last week I got to review a handful of rough thumbnails for potential covers. All of them were great, but I narrowed it down to two that will be getting larger, more detailed versions that I can't wait to see. As huge a part of my life that this book has been for the past year and half, seeing these glimpses of what Through Hell might one day look like on shelves really went a long way toward making this feel like a "real" book. There's only 32 days left in my Inkshares pitch time (hint hint), so the cover likely won't be done by the time it's up, but rest assured, the moment I have a final version, I will find a way to make sure everyone that wants to see it gets to.

Thanks for the patience and continued support and I hope Chapter Four is every bit as much for you to read as it was for me to write.
