Quick Pilot X Update

So things are progressing well and the best thing of all is we have an official publication date!

Pilot X is set to come out March 14, 2017.

Your early support and patience will definitely be rewarded.

I met with the fine folks at Girl Friday Productions last week to talk over the plan and we’re in the process of settling on cover art. Very excited. The visual style will be a big departure from my video, I promise, Heh.

THE EDIT!

Got the first edit back from Clete with some excellent suggestions. Very excited that one of the suggestions was not "hmm, you should start over." So that’s positive!

Actually the book is in better shape than I expected with some areas that need clarification and mostly concentrating on keeping it friendly to new readers. So I’m 100% confident this is going to be a better book than it was before. I sent my first pass back to Clete yesterday.

RANDOM BOOK FACT

If you were at a party on Alenda you might find yourself eating a creamed farragut pastry and a bottle of Kreistner’s Malt .

Thanks again for your belief in and support for this book! I wish it was March already.

I’m not saying it is.  But think about it.  If you’ve managed to convince a lot of people to come to Inkshares and buy books, that’s a sign of influence.

I have a feeling the feature is under construction. It probably has to do with the issues people are having with credits and the main feed freezing. It may not be fully functional yet.

I know that they didn’t want the factors to be things that, if people discovered them, people could just abuse in order to increase their rankings. I’m talking about things like spam-commenting or just mass recommending everything in sight to improve your rankings, and probably a lot of other things. That would make those features useless and it would be really frustrating to authors who don’t know if a recommendation of their book is sincere or not, etc.

I have no idea what they take into account, but I bet it’s at least 10-15 things. We moderators had floated the idea of maybe requiring people to be active for a certain length of time (1 month? 3 months?) before they could be considered influential, since there might be a lot of fake/duplicate accounts out there that end up being abandoned. I have no idea what the Inkshares staff have actually done, though. No idea!
