Good Morning Readers and Happy Tuesday,
This update has been in the works for a long time now, but the wait is over! Today is the day! I am pleased to announce that When I’m 64 has been scheduled for production and will be released on March 27th, 2018. There are many small deadlines that myself, along with the team at Inkshares will be targeting, so this date is subject to change but we will do everything in our power to have this book in your hands on or before that date.
Over the past 11 months, I have been working in the wings to ready the book for print. The developmental edit was hugely helpful and has resulted in a polished manuscript that is ready for the copyeditors to refine. The cover is a gorgeous visual representation of this story that means so much to me, and is ready to be tweaked to fit the final pour from production. And lastly, the photos that bring the story to life have been lovingly selected and are ready for inclusion within the manuscript.
There is a lot of work that will need to get done between today and the publication date, but I am eagerly looking forward to all of it. I will send along important updates as we get closer to the release, but in the interim please feel free to share the link with anyone you think is looking for a good read, has a book club or happens to run a library ;).
As always, thank you for your support!
Lauren
IMPORTANT UPDATE! PLEASE READ!
WE’RE ROUNDING THE CORNER TO THE NEXT PHASE OF EDITING!!!
Greetings, adventurers!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t update in the wake of exciting news!
Guys... we did it. With just 2 days left in the campaign, we hit the 250 mark. Mushroom and Anchovy is FUNDED at the Quill level!
I’m at a loss for words, but the only two that come to mind are THANK YOU. I couldn’t have done this without everyone reading this e-mail. I’m so grateful for everything.
Can I just say that I’m really feeling the Inkshares community love right now? You guys are awesome. Even if I don’t do another crowdfunding campaign in the near future, I’m gonna be sticking around. What a supportive group of fellow authors--a group of very talented people. I’ve learned so much from you all.
If you want the chance at a $50 Amazon gift card, you still have time! I’m not closing the contest until the official end of the campaign--which is Monday. So, I will not count any preorders after 11:59 PM on Sunday (Sept. 10th) in the Amazon gift card draw. You’re automatically entered by preordering, but you can pick up some bonus entries. Take a look at the pinned post on my Facebook page for more details.
Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to be taking the next couple days off! I’ll get back to you all with the winner of the draw next week. I’m throwing in two ebook copies of my first book, novella Hub City Survival. It’s nothing like Mushroom and Anchovy, but hopefully the winners will enjoy it anyway!
That’s it from me for now, guys. This has been a real adventure. Thank you all for helping my biggest goal of this year come to fruition!
May your adventures be fraught with wonder and just enough peril to keep them interesting,
K. M. Cooper
Hey Campers,
Well we’re down to 22 days left in the campaign, I know one of my last updates I put in the wrong number because I’m an idiot. The project is still sitting at 11 orders and the jig is up at the end of this month so get those orders in if you want to see this thing get printed.
Things are looking pretty dire considering there’s less than a month to go and I haven’t even hit triple digit order numbers yet. If Battle Flag fails to fund I’m going to step back and reevaluate my plans for getting the book printed. I will undoubtedly clear the project page of all of it’s chapters and maybe just leave some little note about it. I might take the book and publish through Amazon or Createspace if it doesn’t fund here. I may also take The Agoge and shop it around to agents and then, if I’m successful with it, circle back around and use what clout I have to get Battle Flag printed.
Whatever happens, after 22 days, I’m going to be really busy either working within Inkshares getting the book finished up for publication or working outside of it to get the book setup somewhere else. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to make this work at Inkshares and it’s time to stop spinning my wheels on this.

Greetings, adventurers!
We’re at the home stretch, folks. The last few days. The final countdown, if you will.
With less than 25 preorders to go at time of writing, I’m starting to feel excited and hopeful! I still have work to do, though, to get to that number. Look at this beautiful bar:
So close!
Thanks (again!) to local radio hosts Scotty and Tony of XL96 for blogging about Mushroom and Anchovy (again!). These two have been supportive of my work for years. Thanks again, guys!
By the way, this coming Thursday, I’m going to be starting a new initiative over on my Facebook page called Au-Thursday. I’m going to be featuring up-and-coming and indie authors, and their books. The first people to be featured will be supporters of MushAnch! Give my Facebook page a follow to see the authors I’ll be featuring. If you want a feature, hit me with a DM!
Final reminder about the draw! As I’ve mentioned before, you get an entry for preordering, but additional entries for sharing the pinned post on my Facebook page, and more. Details are all right here on that post! You can win a $50 Amazon gift card. I’ll be throwing in 2 ebook copies of my first book, Hub City Survival, if I hit the goal before 11:59 PM my time on Sunday. If I get the goal before the end of today, I’ll throw in a print copy. Let’s do this!
Thank you so much for this, guys, really. At this rate, it’s looking like it might just happen. And if, by some chance, it doesn’t, I’m so grateful for everyone who’s been following the campaign and contributing in any way. I’ve learned a lot from this experience and have managed to discover so many interesting up-and-coming books through this.
May your adventures be fraught with wonder and just enough peril to keep them interesting,
K. M. Cooper
