Chris Robinson liked an update for Women Like Us

We have us  a book, folks! Over the weekend pre-orders surpassed the 250 mark, and "Women Like Us" will become part of the Quill imprint. A most hearty thank you to everybody who supported this endeavor. It really means a lot. Of course it’s also a little scary -- now you’ll have an actual book in your hands, which means you’ll be reading it. Feel free to criticize, though. I have developed a very thick skin! While I’m not exactly sure of the timeline, the book will go through a short edit and design phase, and then it goes into production. I’ll update again when I know exactly when delivery will start to take place.  Thanks also to all those who participated in the somewhat kooky contests, and of course the winners -- CJ Dukes, who won the cool osoporto.com Surf/Swim mugs, Michael Scotti who took home the Beagle Freedom swag, Terry Lillienfeld, who snagged that sweet McCall’s Meat and Fish Company Gift Certificate, and Victoria Weaver, who won the chance to help design and place on my person the tattoo honoring our Derric of the Beagle Freedom Project!

Having had no experience running a crowd-funding campaign, this was certainly an educational experience with lots of ups and downs. But a shout-out to a few fellow Inkshares authors and their books for their encouragement and support seems in order too, including Matthew Sobin’s https://www.inkshares.com/books/the-last-machine-in-the-solar-system, Billy O’Keefe’s https://www.inkshares.com/books/these-are-my-friends-on-politics-0985, Amanda Ornecks https://www.inkshares.com/books/deus-hex-machina, Tony Valdez’s Dax Harrison https://www.inkshares.com/books/dax-harrison-2276 and Janna Grace’s https://www.inkshares.com/books/the-talkers-are-talking.Check out these books too. There are more of you guys who were a big help, and to all of you I offer most sincere thanks as well.

Honestly, it’s rather exhausting running one of these campaigns. So for a while I will be focusing on getting the book out and not doing the hard-sell (although of course sales are always good so don’t hesitate!) But once again, I truly thank you all for helping to make this happen.

I’m so excited to announce that The Talkers are Talking has met its Quill goal and will become a part of the collection!!  I just want to say thank you to all of you lovely, wonderful, generous and supportive readers.  I couldn’t have done it without you, and now as I start the long road to publication, I promise to do whatever it takes to make Talkers the best it can be. More updates to follow (also in regards to Breaking the Bechdel Syndicate- hell yea people, we are really making a formidable group against manic pixie dream girls and other depth-less female character tropes), but for now, thank you, thank you.

Chris Robinson liked an update for Welcome to Deadland

      Hello Readers!

I wanted to give everyone a quick update to let you know how Welcome To Deadland is coming along! Three exciting things happened this week. First, I received preliminary concept covers. It was surreal looking over the covers and talking with the awesome team from Inkshares, Nerdist, and Girl Friday about which covers we liked and the direction we want to go. I can’t wait to have it all finalized so I can share it with the rest of you!

The second thing that happened was I turned in the next draft of the manuscript. A few weeks ago I received notes from my developmental editor, and I’ve been working diligently to improve the story and the characters. I’m extremely proud of how everything is coming together, and I don’t know how to thank everyone working on this project enough for the long hours they’re putting in to bring my dream to life.

And the third thing, Inkshares and Nerdist are partnering for another contest! If you’ve written a space opera, or are currently writing one, you can find all of the details here. This is an amazing opportunity, and if you’re nervous about the idea of entering, I urge you to take the plunge and go for it. I was hesitant about entering the first Nerdist contest, and now my book is being published as part of their collection and I’ve made several genuine friendships with other authors.

As always, thank you all so much for your continued support, and feel free to contact me through Twitter or Welcome To Deadland’s Facebook Page!

      Thank you all,
      -Zac

        "God dammit JF..."

I'd like to thank everyone who was polite enough not to point out this stupid, stupid mistake.

         I'm nailing it.
