Thanks for your comment  - yes, there are many parallels between the Depression years and our current times. Many, such as those in the arts, were and are greatly affected by the economic conditions in both time periods. 

Thanks for that insight - yes, history has been male dominated and women in the  1930s weren’t as liberated as we are today, but a few groundbreakers, such as the protagonist in this story, paved the way for others to follow.
