I really enjoyed the excerpts you’ve got posted up. There’s a great narrative voice and Duncan very much comes across as snarky, so good characterization. Not sure where you got the idea for him to be a gamer, but it works for me (although I’m curious when he would have picked that up as he died in ’69 – still to come in backstory I’m sure). I thought the pop culture references were good, kind of reminded me of Ready Player One to a certain extent. Another thing I liked was nipping the, ‘why doesn’t the military just handle this’ question in the bud. That exact thought had pretty much just crossed my mind, so good job pre-empting my disbelief by laying the groundwork for Jones and O’Bannon. All in all, looking forward to seeing more of this!
