Michael Sebby liked an update for The Life Engineered

Fellow Sentients, Capeks and other assorted AIs,

My publisher, Inkshares, may one day accuse me of misusing this channel to promote the wrong book, but much like a rogue android, I do not respect such bonds!

In short: I’m here to encourage you once more to pre-order my other book currently funding. A God in the Shed is my next project and I’m excited about it and I believe you’ll love it too. While it’s thematically different from The Life Engineered and focuses on completely different subject matter, I’ve been told it’s a pretty damn good book.

"But what about the sequel to The Life Engineered." you ask, Mr. Strawman.

Don’t worry. Arch-Android is moving at steady pace and should be done with the first draft by mid-May. By the end of May I’ll be looking for beta readers and by June or July I should be launching the campaign for it. In fact, the only thing slowing me down is the amount of time I need to invest in getting A God in the Shed funded.

Aside from me holding Arch-Android hostage, why should you support A God in the Shed? Well, it’s a damn good book and the start to an ambitious trilogy of damn good books, but if you’re looking for gimmicks, well I’ve got gimmicks!

  1. Each pre-order enters you into the ‘I want to kill a reader’ raffle. The winner will have his name and likeness used in the book as a minor character that gets killed off. The author will work with the winner to find the appropriate means of demise to satisfy both the winner and the story.
  2. Each physical copy of A God in the Shed will be signed and numbered as an exclusive first edition item.
  3. Free, exclusive A God in the Shed bookmarks will be included with the physical copies and mailed to eBook supporters.
  4. Orders of three or more copies guarantees your name to appear in the Patrons list printed at the end of the book.
  5. You get to enjoy the satisfaction and pride at having supported both art and literature.
We only have about 9 days left to get over 130 pre-orders, so don’t hesitate any further. Encourage literature, encourage good fiction and most of all encourage A God in the Shed.

End of line.

Michael Sebby liked an update for Exile, Magus

Hey everybody, I know I’ve been quiet lately but that’s just because I’m still in work mode.  This update isn’t about me or Exile, Magus though(I’ll talk about that this weekend).

Right now I just want to make sure you’re aware of a great book which I hope to see hit 750 preorders soon so that it can get the full Inkshares treatment.  Its currently near that funding goal with only 133 pre-orders needed as of this typing to get full funding.  I think it’s worth your attention and I hope you’ll agree. Check it out:

A God in the Shed by J-F Dubeau is a Fantasy/Horror story set in the forgettably small village of St-Ferdinand, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. The villagers have been hiding terrible secret for generations, but when their mysterious captive escapes but gets inadvertently trapped in the McKenzy’s backyard shed, it’s up to the Venus and her friends to figure out how to dispose of this terrible and malevolent burden; an Old God of hate and death.

You can find out more about this dark and beautiful, read sample chapters, reviews and pre-order you copy of A God in the Shed by visiting: www.inkshares.com/books/a-god-in-the-shed

You can listen to the prologue as read by Ageless author Paul Inman here: youtu.be/XJw5oZhqtXo

A God in the Shed is the first part of a trilogy that pushes the line between beauty and horror by telling a story that changes how we look at magic and the world around us. You have a chance of being part of making this book a reality and supporting a new author on his journey.

However, time is running out! The campaign ends April 22nd. Don’t miss out and order today!

Michael Sebby sent an update for The Inhabitants: An Unremembered Life

19 days left in this campaign and 101 copies to go before I can reach Quill!

Is it impossible? No. Is it improbable? Possibly. But it would be nice to finish strong.

I want this to be made. Like, I REALLY want this to be a thing on your bookshelf (whether physical or virtual).

Usually I don’t like to spam my updates with a call to action, but in this case, I think it is warranted. If you know of anyone who would like this book, please send them in my direction. And I know this has been stated in many updates from many other Inkshares authors, but it bears repeating: if you are following this novel, but haven’t pre-ordered, now is the time to act! PLEASE consider jumping off the fence and helping this campaign blaze past the finish line.

The usual raffle is in place: for every 10 unique readers, I will draw names for prizes. It’s simple, and it’s a win for you!

There isn’t much else to drone on about, so I won’t draw this out longer than it needs to be.

Let’s make this dream a reality!

REVIEWS ARE THE LIFE BLOOD OF BOOKS - read the story then keep Ageless alive (heh, puns) by posting a short written review on the following platforms:

GOODREADS PAGE - NOW OPEN and we are 4.75 out 5 stars!

AMAZON PAGE - Not open yet, but it will open SOON (around Pub date, May 3rd). Just copy your Goodreads review to the Amazon page when it’s live.

I’m shooting for at least 60 positive reviews on these platforms, which is VERY doable! Just talk about why you liked it...or I’ll make it easy for you - just copy and paste -

I loved the book! Pick up a copy!

(IF you feel like the story wasn’t up to your standards please contact me HERE in lieu of a poor review, and tell me how I can grow as a writer for my next project. It would benefit me more to have an open conversation with you than a poor review)

Michael Sebby liked an update for Deus Hex Machina

So I just got an email from Inkshares, letting me know Deus Hex Machina was selected as this month’s CEO Syndicate pick!  Alluva sudden we’ve blown past 200 orders, and are almost to 220!  It’s amazing!

Thank you to everyone who believes in this book.  It means so much that you are falling in love with Isidore, Dax, and the crew as much as I am.

In other less gushy news, I finished chapter 4 today, so I am fixing to send that out to those who have preordered. If you want to make sure you get yours, please add yourself to my email list and I’ll mark you as a preorder VIP.

This chapter features the end of the Archive hexing sequence, as well as the results of what Isidore learns from her efforts there. It’s quite a fun ride. I had a blast sending her back into the Grid, and I can’t wait to hear what you readers think after reading it.

Alright, I need to get back to planning Chapter 5’s big set piece. Joseph Asphahani would be proud.

          Love,
          Amanda

Michael Sebby liked an update for Daughter of the Mara

Hi all-as you may have noticed Daughter of the Mara has gone back into draft mode following the end of its funding cycle yesterday. However this is not the end of the road for Jay’s story. I am currently working on yet another edit with plans to self-publish sometime in late May/early June. Once I have a more firm timeline on that I will send an update her and will also update my Facebook fan page (please check it out if you haven’t already). Once again thank you all so much for your support-it warms my heart to know that this story about a girl with waking nightmares appeals to people other than me :)

Michael Sebby liked an update for Lucky

              Dear Readers,

THERE’S NEWS! Lucky has been chosen as a Staff Pick here on the Inkshares website! A gold star has never meant so much! I could not be happier or more honored. It makes me so excited to see so many people enjoying this story.

In other news, my youngest dog broke her foot last weekend and so a lot of this week has been dedicated to helping Stumpy (her current nickname) get back on her feet. Consequently, I haven’t made any progress at all on my new webpage. The page is currently active, but there’s no content as of yet. I’m getting there (slowly!), so please bear with me.

If you’d like to check out my (currently empty) webpage, the address is here: RHWebster.wordpress.com.
If you’d like to connect via Twitter, my handle is @RH_Webster.
If you’d like to connect via Facebook, my snazzy and official author page is at www.facebook.com/RHWebster.ScienceFiction.

As always, I welcome comments, feedback, questions, pictures of cats...you name it! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

It’s the year 2147: a time of enduring peace on Earth. The Last War ended half a century ago. We can cure most ills, the air is pure, and teleportation is how we get around. Sounds great, right? So why does everyone suddenly want to kill Joel Byram?
Michael Sebby liked an update for Rune of the Apprentice
                Beloved Apprentices and Masters!

Despite the long wait between updates, rest assured we have been hard at work on RUNE! To prove it, I wanted to share a sneak peek at the most recent draft of our new cover art!

Again, this is still a draft, and we are planning on making a few more final tweaks to it, BUT I wanted to open the discussion up so everyone else in the community could chime in and share their thoughts, too!

If you have any feedback please direct message me here on Inkshares, tweet me @StoneJamison, or zap me an email at StoneJamison@gmail.com. I really look forward to hearing your thoughts! Seriously, let me know what you think, both the good and bad!!!

                In other news:

I also wanted to give a heads up to all the other writers out there thinking about publishing with Inkshares about Geek & Sundry’s Hard Science Contest. I’m a HUGE fan of G&S and am super excited to have them officially included into the Inkshares community!

They have also enlisted the aid of the Science and Entertainment Exchange, the Hollywood-facing arm of the National Academy of Sciences, who has agreed to have scientists consult on all winning books for scientific accuracy. Pretty sweet! So if you’ve written or are writing a book that emphasizes plausible science to tell your story, you might want to take a look at this contest. To quote The Martian’s Mark Watney, everyone is pretty excited to “science the s**t” out of Inkshares.

                Lastly:

As many of you know, I am a HUGE gamer, cosplayer, and convention goer, too. Usually PAX is where these passions converge for me, but I am SUPER excited to officially announce that I will be going to The DOTA 2 INTERNATIONAL 2016 in August with my brother nickystone90!

He and I game a lot together, but in the past we have only been able to watch previous Internationals on Twitch so we are stoked to be able to go in person this year! I’m already hard at work on my cosplay, too! I dropped a huge hint in my last update (OK, not a hint, I totally gave it away) but over on my blog I’m going to be doing a complete costume construction run down as the date approaches, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, feel free to hit me up for a game of DOTA! Friend me on Steam, my Friend ID is 65253934 and here is a direct link to my Steam profile. For those wondering my MMR is 3.5k and I have 3,050 hrs on record. Yeah, I’m addicted...

For those of you who do not know how amazingly awesome DOTA, the International, or Major League Gaming is, last year there was a CROWDFUNDED Prize Pool of $18,429,613. Just let that sink in for a second... Yeah, pretty wild. I will end this update with the below picture to put professional DOTA into perspective for non-gamer folks!

Happy reading, gaming, and doing all the other awesome stuff that inspires you! Also, for those new followers who have not checked out my book (gasp!) take a look at the Prologue (it’s pretty amazing) and then snag a pre-order. For only $8.99 You will not be disappointed! Enjoy!
