Tahani Nelson sent an update for The Last Faoii

Orders, Faoii! Listen up!

Another warrior joined our army, today! Faoii-Claire is the 2nd new sword to join our ranks since the contest’s end, and I am honored to introduce her to the fight.

I am concerned at our stagnation, though, faoii. We charged into the Geek and Sundry Fantasy Contest with our battle cries piercing the air and our fantoii blazing with glory and determination. We didn’t make it to the top 3 in that contest, but we did not roll over silently and let it slip us by, either. We clawed our way to the leaderboards and  during those few months people knew us. They knew our army, our weapons, and our heart. They rode that crimson tide of battle and watched us storm the contest’s hill. We took a spot in the leaderboards after starting nearly a month late. We proved to everyone that we are warriors. That we do not fade quietly into the background. That we are willing to fight for this.

Now, people are beginning to forget us. The word faoii does not mean Warrior to those who hear it-- it’s only a jumbled mixture of too many vowels. We must remind them who we are. Re-ignite the flame that will have every vanilla human wondering what a faoii is, what we can do, and how they can be part of our army. The contest is lost, yes, but the war is not over. We need to remind people that we are here, and our story is coming.  That The Last Faoii will be a real thing. And when that day comes and this book is at last in print, we will charge into the world screaming our battle cries just as we did that first, wonderful day when we launched onto the Geek and Sundry field.

Every person that has read The Last Faoii in its entirety so far has asked about how it could be made into a movie. I have never heard of literary people wanting to see their favorite book make it to the big screen (because we’ve all seen how badly that can turn out). I wish I had a better answer, but all I know is that Inkshares works with UTA (the United Talent Agency-- one of the largest talent agencies in the world) to set up deals and exchange properties. I, of course, don’t have any idea on how to make that happen-- but the people at Inkshares do. However, why would they want to try to make connections for The Last Faoii when even our army has forgotten the cry? We need to remind them and everyone that The Last Faoii is coming. WE are coming. And our story will be heard.

Shields up, faoii. Remind the world who we are. A single post, tweet, picture, word, hell, send blade-blessed carrier pigeons if that’s what it takes-- but do not let the world forget us before we even have a chance to become real. Our fight does not end here.

That’s all, faoii. Dismissed.

Hi Inkshares staff ( @Thad Woodman @Elena Stofle etc) - I am wondering if there is a way for me to look at a list of my Inkshares recommendations? It feels like once I send one there’s no way to easily access them again. Having a page I (and my followers) can go to and see all the recommendations and reviews that I’ve written would be great.

As it is a recommendation from someone I follow only pops up in my alerts one time, and then they’re done. We can get more mileage out of this feature if they could be collected in a single place and saved, in my opinion.

    Thanks for your time!

      Updates, Faoii! Listen up!

I apologize for my prolonged silence, dear warriors. There has been no news on the publishing front, and thus I had no information to give to you. I will, of course, relay any messages from our Inkshares allies as I receive word.

Despite my silence, however, I assure you that I have not been remiss in my faoii duties. There are always battles to be fought, wrongs to be righted, and situations to improve. Work on Faoii Betrayer is going well, and my personal battles have been exciting and plentiful. Neo-Nazis have threatened my homestate with an armed, hate-filled march, and I have done what I can to remind them that such things will not be tolerated. When they march this weekend you can rest assured that I will be there, and they will hear my battle cry. I have sworn not to start anything at this protest, but I am faoii. I am prepared to finish whatever comes. Even if you cannot be there in person, my warriors, I hope you will add your voice to the Choir in any way you can. Faoii do not stand silently by in the face of such evil.

My battle with health issues has been less straight-forward. It’s been more than a year now, and there is still no clear victor in this ongoing war. While I have not been laid low permanently, I have also been unable to completely fight off the infections that have been slowly depleting my strength and morale. I admit that it is easier now that my campaign for The Last Faoii has ended, but it is still a long, drawn-out battle. Luckily, I finally (blessedly) go in for surgery next month. Perhaps this war will finally end and I’ll feel like a true faoii again. Wish me luck.

I hope your own battles in your own wars are going well. I hope you continue to seek out ways to improve the world and the lives of those within. I hope that your battle cries have been piercing in their beauty and unfaltering as you stand against whatever enemies have tried to break you in the last months. I hope you have continued to uphold your faoii titles. In whatever personal battles and demons you square up against, know that I am proud of you.

Watch for my missives in the future. I’ll keep you updated on this war and others.
      Dismissed.
