An intriguing fantasy tale off to a good start. Always a fan of magic I really like how the magic works so far. Check this book out if you haven't already.

Its a bit confusing here. You mention Ciln injuries riddled his mind but switch back to Silar and hes the one hearing voices. maybe add a sentence saying how hes affected rather then just saying hes worse and continuing to .talk about Silar’s injuries.
Ciln had received far worse injuries however, that riddled his mind. Silar could hear voices all around him even through the curtains of his unconscious mind.
