        Janna Grace liked an update for Wailing Wall: A Mother's Memoir

        Ten days until Wailing Wall is published and I am already overwhelmed with the reception. First, long-time friend Janice Person reviewed it on her blog saying such nice things, I got teary. Then, Richard Alley at The Memphis Flyer gave it a lovely review. I was floored ...and thrilled that Wailing Wall might find a place with male readers! Then, as backers of the project started receiving their copies, I started to get text messages, FaceBook posts and emails from people who read it in one sitting. It's all surreal and wonderful that the story has connected with so many people. 

        Cool stuff is happening!           For those inquiring about the ebook's format: Other books on this platform seem to be available in both EPUB and MOBI (the latter is for the Kindle), but even if it's EPUB only, there are free and easy-to-use converters on the net to turn that into a MOBI-file for your Kindle. 

          Anyway, I love the premise. Can't wait to get my hands on the book. :)

            Hello Friends!

            This picture was taking 15 years ago, in October of 2001. I had just arrived in the country, and I was full of hopes and dreams.

            Unfortunately, soon I learned that my degree in journalism was looked at less because I had got it in a different country. I also learned that my broken English made me unqualified even for a retail job. So I started washing dishes, earning $7.5 an hour.

            I am telling you this story because I want you to understand the impact that your support is having. Either if you pay $30, $9.99, $5 or if you bought the book with Inkshares credits, taking a chance on me has completely changed my life.

            I am proud of myself, and I want to present to you a book that I will be proud to share. So I will be working hard with the Inkshares team to turn The Catcher’s Trap in the best version of itself.

            The day The Doctor invites me for a ride in his Tardis, I will ask him to take me back to the day I took that picture, just so I can tell that kid, “hold on because it will be bumpy and hard, but it all will work out in the end.”

              Hello, followers new and old!

              Thank you, everyone who made Friday a really good day. It was amazing! I appreciate all of the support so much, whether through pre-orders or follows or encouragement. 

              Are you wondering how the reading at Mugshots on Friday went? It was GREAT! There were around 20 people there, which was a small enough crowd for me to talk to everyone there. I realized that my trivia questions were way too hard (I thought they'd be too easy!). Renee won even though she could only remember three characters from Firefly. Congrats, Renee!



              Special thanks to Leah (seen above right, interviewing me), who is a shining star, and Ben Saine, who directs a pretty awesome cafe.

              NEXT UP:

              I'll be reading at the MN Speculative Fiction Writers 2015 Local Author Showcase on Nov 8th at the Acadia Cafe! I only get seven minutes, so I'd better make it good.

              The event starts at 3pm and you are all (obviously) invited! I expect all the Canadians to carpool.

              Finally, here's a progress snapshot of that Ladies of Scifi poster I'm drawing as a prize for my coloring contest:


              I'm going to add Leia and another surprise foundational woman of scifi, just because apparently I can't stop! Alex wants to do some digital color over the pencil; we'll see what we can come up with.
