Craig A. Munro liked an update for Disintegration

Good afternoon, everybody!

Wow. The response to my request for orders to reach 400 was immediate, and I’m grateful. In just a short amount of time, we’re more than halfway there. Only three more copies until Disintegration hits that milestone!

If you haven’t yet contributed, please do. Nearly 250 people can’t be wrong, right?? There are 57 of you who are following, but haven’t yet purchased a copy. Tell me how I convince you. :)

If you have credits and would like to make an exchange, I will gladly reciprocate. Please use my referral link (

Special thanks to Seamus Scanlon (my good friend. He is a great author and playwright, check him out on facebook), Amanda Orneck (author of Deus Hex Machina. Help her book about a female hacker collective in dystopic Orange County reach the Quill threshold!), Michael Haase (author of The Madness of Mister Butler, which is currently second-place in the Nerdist space-opera contest!), and Peter Ryan (author of Sync City, an intriguing hardboiled narrative about interwoven timelines, where one can traverse the past, present and future as if they were contemporaneous. Plus, motorcycles!)

If anyone among the 57 of you who are still on the sidelines have it in you to order, there’s a prize in it for the 400th and 450th copies sold: a drawing of a character from the book. It may be a major player, or it may be some obscure supporting character ... but, you know, when this thing takes off, it’s going to be a collector’s item. Like the hammerhead action figure from the original Star Wars. :P

Apparently the importer on here has some issues with PDFs and really butchered my formatting. I hope the Prologue makes more sense now with the proper edits. I’ll have to keep a closer eye on it moving forward.

Please feel free to comment. I’m going to try and be more active on here going further.

Thanks to all who have followed so far! I really appreciate it!

Craig A. Munro liked an update for A God in the Shed

      Greetings friends!

My first book with Inkshares, The Life Engineered is released. I still have a lot of promotional work to do with it to keep the spotlight on it, but as far as the heavy lifting is concerned, we are done. Time to focus on the next thing and the next thing is A God in the Shed.

As of this writing, we are 271 orders away from getting published. We have 44 days to get these orders. You’re following this book so I know there’s a good chance you want to see it published. This is why, as of this moment, you are my army.

Starting today, we are going to campaign to get A God in the Shed to 750 pre-orders. Here’s what I have in mind for myself:

      • I’m looking for places where I can talk about A God in the Shed. Podcasts, blogs, events, anything. I’ve got a few things lined up but I’m open to more options if you have them.
      • I will be revamping some of the things you see on the project page to add more content for you and to generate interest.
      • I will be investing in some strategic ads with content creators whom I enjoy and support to hopefully create a dialogue with their audience.
      • I will be mobilizing some of my more militant supporters into pushing A God in the Shed as much as possible. If that’s you, let me know.
What do I expect from you? Very little, yet so very much.

I need you to find one other person and personally guide them into pre-ordering A God in the Shed. It’s simple because who can’t find one friend who likes Fantasy/Horror and likes to support independent authors? It’s difficult because I’m putting the responsibility on you to ask, guide and follow up with them. If even half of you manage to do this, we’ll be in good shape to get published.

Sounds good? What’s in it for you?

      1. If the book gets published and you ordered at the Deity level, you get your name in the book as a Patron.
      2. If you use a referral through the ’Recommend Via’ buttons at the top of the page, you get Inkshares credits that you can put towards other books.
      3. For each book you pre-order, you will get an entry into a random draw. For every successful recommendation, you will get another entry into this raffle. The winner of this raffle will have his name and likeness included in the book as a minor character that gets tragically murdered.
      4. You get to be on the ground floor of a trilogy that will, I hope, be pretty damn awesome.
I’ll be sending occasional reminders and updates on the progress we’re making. You guys have been awesome with me so far and it seems greedy to ask for more, but the sooner I can stop promoting, the sooner I can get back to writing and I think that’s best for everyone.

Go forth my army! Let’s get things published!

      Also; thanks. You’re all awesome.

        Another real kid review:

My daughter read the Chapters you posted. Here is her review: I really like this book so far. The story, setting and characters are quite interesting. Also, the author, Mr. Leone, uses alot of humorous figurative language, which I really enjoy. I just finished reading Chapter Three, and I’m surprised that Milo is so scared of the bullies that he doesn’t think twice before going into the orb that is in the forest to hide until he finds out that he doesn’t know how get out...but then the orb lets him out. Why? I can’t help but to be curious... about what is gonna happen next. I really want to read more! Please finish writing the book ASAP!!! = Danika age 10

Thanks Danika! So glad you liked it.

Hi, everyone. It’s been a nice little stretch, lately. Disintegration is only seven copies away from 400!

Many thanks to those recent purchasers (and, of course, to all of you who have already supported my book). Some of the recent orders have come from authors participating in the current Nerdist Space Opera contest!

Be sure to check out The Life Interstellar (if you remember Verhoeven’s RoboCop, you’ll love the narrative voice of this story. Zack Jordan is doing a great job with world-building. Follow his book and be entertained by his updates!), The Traveller’s Cup (I love the premise of this story: it has a bit of a Hunger Games feel, but the scope is much grander and it involves SPACE DRAGONS!), Infinity Mind (its plot is reminiscent of Philip K. Dick’s "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale". Mars. Brainwashing. But ... Assassins!) and Champions of the Third Planet (this book is the contest leader. In this tale, five kids band together to save Earth from a faraway threat).

Please, if you haven’t yet ordered a copy of Disintegration, do so now. Help me reach another milestone in my quest to be a fully funded Inkshares author, with all the rights and privileges that affords (Fame! Fortune! Or, at least, royalty checks and rigorous editing!).

Support art and artists! Support independent authors (me! the people I mentioned above!) and publishing companies (Inkshares!).

          That is all. :)

            Hahaha.

            Haha.

            Ha. So much news...

First of all, there have been sightings of a strange and hilarious creature, stalking local bookstores praying on the minds of readers. Witnesses have placed it at Powell’s Books in Portland...

...at Unabridged Books in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago...

...and at City Lit Books in Logan’s Square also in Chicago.

If any of these locations are near or known to you, authorities recommend you take public safety into your own hands by capturing these potentially dangerous abominations.

Yeah, so enough of that. My book is out!!! Like not officially or anything, but it can be located in physical places. That’s great.

You know what else is great? This review from Publisher’s Weekly.

What’s more...I just discovered that the review feature on Amazon is up and working for my book. Why is this important? Here’s an infographic:

So yes, between 50 and 100 reviews (another number I’ve heard thrown around for algorithms. Please, please, PLEASE...go to Amazon and leave a rating and review. Even if it’s just "I liked it" *Five Stars.* ESPECIALLY if it’s just "I liked it" *Five Stars.* If you already posted a review on Goodreads or Netgalley, copy and paste is your friend. This is incredibly important for the success of the book, especially for a first-time, unknown author such as myself.

And just a reminder again, that the official launch party for An Unattractive Vampire will be at Bucket O’ Blood Books and Records on March 18th at 7 PM. Here’s the Facebook event page so that you know this is totally a real thing and not just another black market toe harvesting scam.

            Almost done.

There’s about a week left to go in the current Inkshares Space Opera contest. Once you’re done writing a rave review about how my book changed your life in ways you don’t fully comprehend, consider helping another person live this dream of stress and uncomfortable self-promotion by purchasing a book like...

The maddening tale of a so-called "round planet" in The Madness of Mr. Butler by Michael Haase
Space truckers and conspiracy in Lucky by RH Webster
The dangerous and nearly extinct human being in The Life Interstellar by Zack Jordan
Interstellar inebriation in Space Tripping by Patrick Edwards
Retro spies and rocket ships in To Live and Die in Avalon by Jason Chestnut

            And again...thank you all.
