Patrick Tebbe sent an update for Fortunes of the Space Sloth

Followers of the Space Sloth,

Today ends the funding cycle for Fortunes of the Space Sloth. Unfortunately we aren’t going to make it, at least not with this route.

I have been absent from Inkshares for a few weeks. Eventually I had to make a decision of continuing to work on this story (with a somewhat low chance of hitting 250 readers) or putting my efforts into a half million dollar research proposal (with a high chance of being funded). I went with the proposal and it looks like it will be funded. This will help support student researchers for several years so I can’t complain.

However, don’t get the impression that the civilian space vessel Space Sloth is going away. I have been working on some missing details and plot aspects. Readers are still reviewing chapters. I have every intention of getting the draft polished and published (somewhere).

I thank you for your support and the great experience this has been. When the Space Sloth docks at its new home I will make sure you all know.
