Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for Transilience

In all the power of the Dunning-Kruger effect, I will assume I have not overstayed my welcome on Inkshares. That despite taking my novel elsewhere to be crowd-funded, you all want to know what’s happening in my tiny world.

I am certain you do...

I have good news!

At this very moment, the ultimate answer to the universe is: Order a copy of Transilience today. https://unbound.co.uk/books/transilience

Fun fact: I originally had Order a copy of Transilience today in quotes but I changed it to italics because it looked sexier.

The number of days left in Transilience’s campaign: 42.

See where I’m going with this??

If it helps, I’m not sure I do. This seemed funnier in my head.

Seriously though, please take a look at the site. Many of you support Transilience during its run on Inkshares. Some of you said very flattering things about it. Some of you have supported it on Unbound, and I am eternally grateful. I’m hoping for the more of the same...even if its on another site.

It’s a bit like when a friend transfers schools because a parent got a new job in a different city. You don’t have to stop being friends with them. Maybe you get to hang out on the weekends. Go see a show. Hang out at the mall. The situation has changed, a little, that’s all.

Oh! And! And! I am giving away a painting. It’s a painting I did on a noir theme. It’s original and it’s unique (in that it’s the only one I’ve painted like it).

And!! Regardless of your contribution level, you get your name placed lovingly in my novel. For a mere 10 pounds (~15 bucks) you receive an eBook with your name immortalized within its pages.

(Deep breath) And!! You get to do an incredibly noble thing for a guy trying to be a writer.

One more time. The link: https://unbound.co.uk/books/transilience

Oh! I also wrote a piece on why I write. You can find it on my blog. A place where I am the Hobo King and a wooden nickel will buy you a tin cup and an endless supply of gin.

Cheers!

Here is another fantastic rendering of an iconic image from Mission 51. In this scene, Petrus presents the finished ship, Janusia, to his son Mat. Artist Chris Pyke has captured it beautifully, a touching moment between father and son, the continuation of a painful goodbye. - Chris, all I can say is... Wow!!!

Mission 51 opens with a child’s dream of being a hero and exploring outer space. Now an adult, Mat, is tasked to successfully complete a journey across the vastness of space where so many others have failed before him. With the help of his rag-tag crew and a slick, 5D traveling space ship—a ship that could’ve well been pulled straight from Flight of the Navigator—Mat must reach Earth’s distant sister planet. As the plot thickens and the twists unfurl, the reader will be taken down a road reminiscent of The Twilight Zone.

Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for The Seventh Age: Dawn

        Greetings...

Since everyone liked my update where I shined a light on the JPL. Here are some quick tidbits about the Vampire Legend: While vampires had been around in legend and even part of mass hysteria in eastern Europe very early on. It was the novel The Vampyre written in 1819 that got the ball rolling. Bram Stroker’s Dracula came about in 1897.

In some legends, creating a vampire was as simple as having an animal jump over a corpse. In others, it was curse from God or Russian Witches. Still, to this day, my favorite method of destroying a vampire from legend:

Iron Nails ran through the chest followed by a Hawethorne stake through each leg. Bits of steel placed in the mouth, over the eyes, and in between the fingernails before burial. Then decapitation of the head, turn it around, fill the coffin with rosepedals and bury the damn thing. This wouldn’t actually kill the vampire mind you, only keep it trapped. As of 2006, they are still finding corpses being dug up with this treatment.

Which in my head just means they set the vampires free right?

Oh right! Artwork! Speaking of being set free.... here is a scene painted by Lizzy Perez of The Seventh Age:

We are so close to 1000 orders guys. If you are following this campaign and haven’t jumped in yet: 27 spots left. I’m collecting more art such as what’s above for prize raffles when we hit the magic number. Hop in, follow the updates for more bite-sized facts about strange occult legends... and a kick-ass book about what happens when they all come crashing back.

Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for The Sleeping Man

            Good morning Dreamers!

Well, I’ve had quite the weekend. I have two huge elements of news that are equally important in different ways. I’ll go in the order of why I’m telling you. First, The Sleeping Man was June’s pick for the Epic Fantasy Syndicate! https://www.inkshares.com/syndicates/john-robin-s-epic-fantasy-syndicate. Having one syndicate pick is amazing, but having a second bathes me in a warm light. Secondly, I got promoted and had my daughter pin the new rank on:

The support and interesting for The Sleeping Man is amazing and I cannot thank everyone enough. Now we just need to push to Quill, and there is plenty of time. A guest blog post, interview, and two syndicate picks can’t be wrong, so pre-order now! Pre-order again! Recommend! Share! Ride forth!

            Sweet dreams,

            Stephen

Nicole Bruno Cox liked Johnny’s Messed Up
Well that’s just the thing, I never said the main character is a hero.  There would be consequences yes. Namely that if you die, you die for real.
The prisoner thing, definitely not. It’s all in the title. Johnny’s there of his own volition. Haha I really want to explore it.

Nicole Bruno Cox liked an update for Squids In

                Hey Guys,

I have written some more of the book and am very excited by some of the plot twists and turns my brain is somehow coming up with. I hope to share Chapter 2 with you by the end of the week (if work allows).

Also, I’ve spoken with my illustrator Karasz over on DeviantArt to see if he could do something with the Squids In cover, to bring it more inline with some of the awesome compositions he has been producing. What we have decided is to create both a brand new piece AND rework the original. We will then share both illustrations on a future update/email and ask you guys which one you like the best. This will again happen towards the end of the week.

For now, let me just leave you with this illustration of Hendrix the octopus enjoying himself...
