      This POV shift is called "head-hopping" and within one sentence, we go from Grey's thoughts (even if lost), to Alessandra's watching. Alessandra deserves her own scene, with an establishing transition that doesn't depend on knowing Grey's thoughts (unless telepathy was intended).

        Where did he come from? The POV character was trying to avoid a child. Maybe the indefinite "a homeless man" would work instead of the definite article.
