Greetings Jackolytes,
We are storming ever closer to the 250 mark with fewer than 10 pre-orders required. Jack would love to ride into existence before the weekend is out, and I’d love some new readers to come along. The necessary conditions are simple: computer, credit card and cognizant. Does this sound like anyone you know? Does this sound like you? You can find Jack at: www.inkshares.com/books/sync-city It’d also be cool if you could share this link with those around you. As always, you can get hold of me at blooryan@hotmail.com .
Cheers,
Peter
Lila’s head snapped back with an ugly popping sound, and Charley swore loud enough to be heard over the thundering speaker he stood next to. Fingers scrambling over his controller, he fought to get his android fighter back on her feet, but it was pointless.
We’d lost this round.
Now that it’s not April 1st, here is the REAL World Builders post on the world of Blood Dawn. I hope you all enjoyed the parody version. And if anyone is disappointed that the new Blood Dawn cover doesn’t actually have the Flying Spaghetti Monster on it, never fear -- I’m saving the file for a special limited time edition perhaps some April 1st down the road.
Okay now, seriously, check this post out because I think I captured the story of the world in miniature in a powerful way. And while you’re there, you can also check out the previous World Builders 2.0 posts where I’ve had the pleasure of featuring the worlds of other great authors like Amanda Orneck, Andrew Wood, R. Heinz, Melissa Berg, G. Derek Adams, C. Brennecke, Brian Guthrie, and more!

It seems the previous post links are a little too bloody for the servers...so please use these.
Hi there knife wielding swamp sucking fans of the greatest conspiracy ever uncovered! Hot news! LOUISIANA BLOOD has now been picked by two syndicates as book of the month!
In March it was selected by The Idiosyncraticate Syndicate, a great bunch of enthusiasts who believe that there is a place for innovative thrillers and mysteries to hold their own against alien zombie monsters on the moon Sci-Fi space operas…join up by signing in HERE!
And now, The Thriller Night Syndicate, supporting works with elements of thriller, mystery, crime and spy fiction has voted Louisiana Blood book of the month for April! You can join up by going HERE!
What does this mean? I hear you cry, as you interrupt a pleasent evenings dismemberment…
Well, it means I’m only a short blood spurt from reaching the Quill publishing goal of 250 pre-orders.
I reckon by the time you read this update I will be sidling towards 200…which means I only need 50 or so followers to pre-order.
Now as there are approximately 180 of you, that only means less than a third of you have to put your mojitos down, slither off your recliners, scoop up your Ipads (Other sexy computer tablets are available.) and tap a talon on the book cover below.
Within seconds you can be back to your mojito and I can be sharpening my book-signing quill. Don’t forget you’ll also get the Louisiana Blood bonus script AND, an entry into the raffle to win $100! Hit HERE and help a murderous author out!
What are you waiting for? Brimming with anticipatory thanks, Mike.
Before I get into an update, I want to thank everyone who has expressed excitement about the project. I never expected so many complete strangers would have an interest in a weird little novella about a pissed-off witch, so that has been heart-warming.
While the manuscript itself is finished and I am at work on my next project, within the past several months I have had escalating difficulties with my mental health. Last week, I experienced an acute, severe depressive episode, and was hospitalized following a suicide attempt.
I am physically okay, and am currently in respite care awaiting admission into long-term treatment.
The good news is I will not be going back to my day job until the fall, so I can focus not only on writing but on recovering. But the bad news, without getting into too much detail, is I have to clean up the mess I made while I was sick so I can set up a bank account so I can, you know. Agree to the payment terms and actually hit the "Sell Pre-Orders" button. Apparently part of the online publishing deal is you’re supposed get paid, one day? Weird.
Anyway, my plan as of right now is to keep the project in Drafts through April and start selling pre-orders next month.
Thank you all again for the support, and I’ll have better news in a few weeks.
See you in May!
Dear Readers,
There’s good news and bad news (always, right?). The good news: I have figured out a brilliant way to fix the middle of Lucky. Currently, the middle of the novel says this exactly: "[...stuff happens...]" And then moves on to the next scene. My editor doesn’t like this, so I’ve cooked up a fantastic way of fixing it.
The bad news is that I cooked it up at 3:30 this morning, woke up, scribbled it down on the back of an envelope, then went back to sleep. Now, in the light of day, I have no idea what I wrote.
However, we shall persevere and we shall get this thing done. This afternoon will be dedicated to deciphering the hieroglyphics I wrote last night in my sleep, and tomorrow will be editing Chapter Nine.
What’s that? You want to read Chapter Nine? Then share this novel with everyone you know so we can hit 500 orders!
Happy Saturday!
