    His name was Yacub, an infamous raider along Leora’s western border with Corvidia.  The first time he had been apprehended in Crosswall, before any part of the hyena’s infamous past and violent profession were known to the city guard, however, Yacub had escaped capture.

      Oh yeah. Maxan's physicality is heavily influenced by Assassin's Creed. But unlike that franchise, he can't just pick up a weapon and be an expert killer after a training montage. The expertise Max has in climbing is made up for by his bumbling inadequacy with a sword.

        He lithely stepped across a wooden beam, and ran in an arc upwards and then across the sloping tiled rooftop, coming to one edge and leaping nearly ten strides to the next.
