Oh yeah. Maxan's physicality is heavily influenced by Assassin's Creed. But unlike that franchise, he can't just pick up a weapon and be an expert killer after a training montage. The expertise Max has in climbing is made up for by his bumbling inadequacy with a sword.
He lithely stepped across a wooden beam, and ran in an arc upwards and then across the sloping tiled rooftop, coming to one edge and leaping nearly ten strides to the next.
That's a distinction I often reminded my students of, back in the day.
