Evening, all!
Discarded is humming along nicely at this point; there’s thrilling action and revelations galore, all coming together in ways I hadn’t pictured or even considered when this draft first started. I’m still aiming for a finish by the end of this coming week; barring that, coming near enough that I can dive back in at any time during my future projects, while keeping a close eye on the campaign’s progress. I actually experimented with writing the epilogue well before the first round of draft work and edits; not my preferred method, but it opened up some new options on the rest of the story, and the majority of it has stayed the same, so far. We’ll see soon enough how much it might need to change, and the draft as well; there’s only one or two more chapters to go!
On this note, I have an announcement: Though there’s still a fair amount of time left in my campaign, I haven’t had quite as much success as I would like getting the word out, and feel a bit worried about making even the Quill goal. So, to give the campaign a boost, I’ve decided to offer the following, to all current and potential readers and followers:
1. For every 25 future pre-orders, I will post a new excerpt from Discarded, and the last person to order will receive a free copy of my Alternate History e-novella, Dillinger in Charleston (available on Amazon Kindle and Smashwords.com)
2. For every 50 pre-orders, I will post a section--marked out by Roman numerals in the chapters already posted--and the last 5 people to order will receive copies of DIC.
This offer will run for the duration of the campaign. I’ll be keeping careful daily track of any orders; if you are one of the novella winners, and have a particular way you’d like the work sent to you, let me know anytime. If you’re not able to order for whatever reason, just share and recommend! Let’s get the word out!
