Black and White is what came about when I decided that I hadn’t had enough of urban fantasy, and certainly, not enough of a sort of steampunk/sorcery/adventure novel smooshed together. (I’m using the word smooshed here because it feels appropriate.)
While it’s not the longest book, it is fun, and I enjoyed creating each of the characters, from the conflicted Mr. White to Ava Rose to Mr. Black and beyond. It reminds me a bit of the pulp serials I would read whenever I could get my hands on them, and I wanted to convey that feeling for other readers.
