Hello, Detectives.
I apologize for the late post, but as I said, I would upload it today haha! The narration of the story will be taking a different approach. As usual, the character’s name will be displayed before the actual text of the story to show who we are following, but it’ll be in 3rd person. I wanted to change this for some reasons that will be explained later, but for now, this is how it’ll be. Now, I didn’t show the entire chapter leading up to this scene, but I felt like putting this in the sneak peek would say how I want to set the scene for Amani Marshall and her investigations into the enemies against her and her father, Maxwell. Comment anything you’d like about the sneak peek to help improve anything or just to point out you like this or that. Either way, thanks for reading, and I will be releasing the full chapter soon!
Sincerely,
Anthony Jones III
Hello, Detectives.
I owe you guys an apology. I was pretty ill over the weekend once I got through the hustle and bustle of the weekdays. I believed I could post on Sunday, but I had a severe headache and I was just so drained, so hopefully you guys aren’t disappointed--these things happen. The chapter is done, but I have yet to look over it for corrections. I will do so when I return home, so expect this sneak peek chapter later today. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Anthony Jones III
Hello Detectives,
I have some good news. This weekend I’m planning to post a sneak peek of the first chapter, but I don’t know what day or time at the moment. This week has been very test heavy for me, so I at least want to post some improvements of the chapter soon, so that you all get the gist of the path I’m taking. It’ll be around 400 words probably. I’d like some support from the readers and feedback if you’re willing--anything is welcomed. Until then!
Sincerely,
Anthony Jones III
Hello Detectives,
It is time for Detective Diaries to get a proper remodeling. This remodeling will start with the deletion of the current chapters. As I said before, I would like to change important events, or rather swap them around to benefit the ominous presence of the Bone Breaker, Rochester, and Ouroboros. Each plays a role, but I didn’t necessarily know how to flesh them out, or place them correctly because there’s so much to be discussed. The main characters have their own backstories alongside Amani Marshall, but I became so involved with the other characters that I deviated from the center point. I believe the best way to handle this is to carry on with portraying Amani’s story of discovering who the Bone Breaker is, but eliminating the whole entire situation of her being underneath Carbine and helping him with his own investigation; however, at the same time, I will bring in other characters into the mix and maybe show a sliver of their own problems, for they could tie into her own down the line.
Good news is--as I type this letter to you all, I am preparing for the first chapter. Now, there are some scenes I am keeping because plot, but expect some new scenes and the absence of those you read before. Also, I won’t say a specific date to expect this chapter until it’s concrete. That is all for now. I hope you all are well and good luck with whatever you’re pursuing in life.
Sincerely,
Anthony Jones III
Good afternoon, Detectives!
It’s been about two weeks and I’ve been slowly thinking over my options on how to expose Detectives Diaries, and shape it into a much better story. I’ve come to the conclusion that I must revise certain major story points that I believe should posses a much deeper meaning in the long run, for it applies to the mystery of the identity of the Bone Breaker, the past of Rochester, and much more. So, once again, the chapters will be revised! I will discuss more later, but for now, this is the first step. Check later for more.
Sincerely, Anthony Jones
Hello, everyone!
It’s been quite a long time since I was actively on Inkshares and busily trying to figure out ways of publishing my books, but alas, all that work burned me out in the end. So, as you know, I took a looooong break, which mostly is because I’m a freshman in college now. However, despite being in college, I can’t shake that creative itch in the back of my mind that flourishes with brand new ideas and ways of polishing those already made. I want to walk on the same path I did before, but grow more upon it. I believe that in the area I am in, I can get more reader eyes on my projects, but I won’t be breaking my back so much, as in not trying to pre-order at the moment--just taking it slow and steady in draft phase.
It’s really strange now that I’ve come back. I wondered about the people who followed my projects, their thoughts, the people I followed personally and cheered on from the background with their own projects, but also how to tackle this again. First step is simply to reorganize both "Detective Diaries" and "Scarlet". As for which project gets attention, it will have to be "Detective Diaries". It stands as the first book I’ve ever made, which was way back when I was a freshman in high school--just out middle school, and it feels only right to finish it. I won’t put my hopes in publishing it here, for there are other ways of doing so, but if there is change in the project and I go through with gathering more eyes, there will be a chance. That is all for now. I’m looking forward to seeing what this can become.
Yours truly,
A.J.III.
