Tony Valdez liked an update for Sync City

Greetings Jackolytes,

Those of you of a certain age or with certain rock proclivities will know of AC/DC’s Back in Black. AC/DC went from being a talented Aussie rock band to being world-bestriding rock gods -- people finally heard their sound. Well, this is Jack Trevayne’s rock god moment - his Back in Jack. A good friend of mine, Sean Daugherty, who also works as a voice actor, went to work on Scene 1Episode 4 of Sync City.  And he nailed it. Have a listen. Then tell me how good you think Sean is. Then I will tell him. Also, share Sync City with those in need of a Jack fix. Jack Trevayne may be a world-bestriding badass -- but he needs you. If you haven’t done so already -- pre-order now!

Stay well,

Peter

Tony Valdez liked an update for Champions of the Third Planet

    Hi everybody,

Just wanted to let you know I’ve added chapters 2 and 3! I have the feeling I might hone these chapters again before I’m done but I’m happy with them tonight and wanted to share.

I’m writing Chapter 12 now but Chapter 2 was probably the most difficult chapter for me to write so far because I was starting to toy with point of view and struggled with what my approach would be. Originally I was torn between staying strictly with Milo, and seeing his arch-enemy Dylan only from Milo’s point of view in these early chapters, or else starting to jump around in point of view and start to see things from Dylan’s side. I think in the end I did both: we’re introduced to Dylan through Milo’s eyes, but then partway through chapter 2 we make the first leap into another character’s POV.

Jumping into different point of views is strange new territory for me as a screenwriter. In screenplays you can’t really do that. You can cut to a new scene and a different character, or maybe SUGGEST a slight shift in POV during a scene. But that’s nothing compared to diving into another character’s head completely, or even jumping between characters within a single scene. I can still see a version of this story I could tell strictly from Milo’s point of view, but I think that would be limiting. I think getting to know all the characters from inside their heads is the best way to tell this story and is frankly just more fun.

The next time I post I may leap forward in the story to a later chapter -- I’m impatient to show you guys some of the crazier alien stuff that happens next.

    --Chris

Tony Valdez liked an update for Transilience

      Hello everyone!

What better way to assault the drudgery of Hump Day than with some exciting news?

      It was rhetorical!

      ;

Okay, sure. All very good alternatives to assaulting the drudgery of Hump Day, but we will stick with my news.

With the assistance of my very good-natured wife, I have a winner to announce for the Sketch Raffle.

In an attempt to convey some sense of legitimacy to the selection, behold an image....

Why are you so large image?!?!?!?!  You’re a 37kb JPG. You could fit 5.25 floppy disk! But here you are hogging up the entire width of the typing area.

Anyway....as you can see all of the contestants have been placed lovingly in our overflow fruit bowl. We also use it for tomatoes from time to time. And salad when we’re feeling fancy. But today...it has the distinct honor of holding the names of everyone who has supported Transilience thus far!!

      And the winner is....

      Super Reader Tim Merchant!

Congrats Tim! I am excited for your win and I guarantee you will be excited too, until maybe you see the finished product. Then all bets are off.

I’ll be in touch with you, Tim, soon with more details.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported Transilience thus far. Forty-Eight (48) more orders and we do this again for a commissioned piece of artwork.

Spread the word! With your help, and the help of others, we can make my dream a reality.

      Cheers!
      Kev
