@M. LynnI think a strong social media presence could really help your future campaigns. Most of the pre-orders gained by social media come from Facebook, but Twitter is great too. You could even create an author twitter page and follow all the unshared authors you can find.
While I understand it is difficult, you should think about announcing your campaign beforehand and getting your friends and family excited about your book.
I also think that through getting more involved in the Inkshares community (forums, blog posts, Facebook groups) people will recognize you, follow you, and when the time comes, support your project.
I think the best tip you can get from the above articles is that delegating orders to friends/family is important. If they each agree to get you 10 pre-orders, through work, school, and social groups, your goal will be reached a lot faster than going it alone. Do not waste your time reminding people who are promising to order your book but never do, you would be better off posting updates for everyone about how there is only __ days left for them to order.
