@Luke Fellner - I noticed that thread. I’ll have a look back at your comment and check out what music you suggested!
I do like classical music. I may have heard some of that music before, but I’ll know when I listen to it! As for Tchaikovsky, I’ll check his music out. I’m very familiar with the 1812 Overture and Marche Slave but apart from that, I’ve listened to virtually nothing.
I’ve heard that the Fallout music is very good. I played Fallout: New Vegas and loved the game, as well as the songs on there. I’ll look into the other Fallout game soundtracks too.
Thanks for the ideas Luke. I’m a sucker for some good Metal. Though I think Inari is too light on her feet to fight to most of these. Though some would work for a badass walk or a driving scene. I was tempted by Clutch with it’s chorus of bang-bang-bang-bang. It’s definitely getting added to my Youtube playlist!
@Luke Fellner - I don’t often listen to heavier music, but sometimes I find it’s very suitable to what I’m writing. I’ll keep those suggestions in mind!
My story is similar to Luke’s; I started writing stories as soon as I knew how to write. I wrote so many "books" as a child, and completed maybe three that were longer than a couple pages. Writing is a way of processing life that makes sense to me.
My work on the book I’m sending in to Inkshares soon, She Is the End, began when I was 16. It started out first person, now it’s close third person from multiple perspectives; it had a Harry Potter-style beginning with alien kids attending a secret school on Earth, and now it most definitely does not start that way. I cut major characters, added major characters, and started a complete re-write six years ago. The first version was... very bad.
And now it’s almost done! This book is part of my soul on the page and screen, and I’m really proud of it. (And terrified, of course, woo hoo!)
@Jane-Holly Meissner -- I have a similar process; I regularly compile my scrivener project into a manuscript (usually word doc) and back it up in Google Drive.
I hope you all are have a good week. I’m happy to hear from a lot of you that you’re new to inkshares. It’s good to see that the community is growing, the more people there are on inkshares the better it is for us all as a whole.
The Burned follows eight travelers on a hunt for gold, each with their own reason. Only the survivors will get their treasure. A brutal story of companionship and betrayal.
