This has to be the smoothest, most understated opening I've ever read. And despite being about a crazy old man, we can all relate to ending up in unusual circumstances all because of a girl.

      I have placed the first chapter up on here for your perusal. It is open to criticism, as all writing is when in its natural habitat. 
      Yes, it is short. Not all of the chapters are this short, but my style usually leans toward brevity. I figured I owed everyone an example chapter so you could have a feel for my style and get a glimpse of the title character. It’s only fair when I’m asking you for money, after all...
