Thanks to you, it’s a BOOK!
I woke up this morning to the fantastic news that Pilot X smashed through the 750 preorder goal we needed to get fully published by Inkshares. That means this is a real book now with a real editing process about to start and real book marketing et cetera.
I know I’ve said this a lot but I cannot thank you enough.
Pilot X thanks you too. He really has come a long way since we mistakenly thought he was a crashed airline pilot in the 1990s. Wow is he more than that. He’s not even human. And I can’t wait for all of you to get to know him and his world better. There’s a planet of monks who discover the Dimensional War, a small hut with three Pilot Xs working in it, and of course the Pineapple Planet.
But all of that will come soon enough. For now you’ve made my year!!
Y’all rock.

We’ve just sold our 100th pre-order! There is a long way yet to go, but we’re making steady progress toward our goal, thanks to your support.
Also, only two days remain in Geek and Sundry’s Hard Science Fiction competition. We may not be able to win at this point, but I’d like to sneak in and steal fourth place, just for my own personal gratification. Let’s see what kind of damage we can do!
Share us on all the social media, and if you haven’t made your pre-order yet, now is the time! Let’s give it one big push over the next 2 days and see how far we get!
Upon the suggestion of Christopher Huang, the brilliant author of "Murder at the Veterans’ Club," I have edited the introductory text on Mission 51’s home page. It gives away a little bit more of the story, and hopefully piques your interest!
I sat down to write, with a fresh cup of coffee and a real desire to see what happens to Isidore next. Then I saw that we got another order (#265), and now I might be too happy to write. I mean, I will write, but as it stands I am in a good mood filled with good coffee with a lovely Spring afternoon tempting me to just run through the wildflowers outside. It’s hard to write about people in dire situations when you just want to twirl on a mountainside like Maria.
SO CLOSE!
Order number 700 was just made meaning we’re only 50 preorders away from hitting the full publishing goal.
Dammit. @iamsteadman just ordered one as I was writing this.
Meaning we’re only 49 pre-orders away from hitting the publishing goal. (Thanks Mark!! Happy Eurovision!)
As a huge thank you for being in before the end here’s a little snippet from the book I won’t be putting up on the general page.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
LESSONS
“It’s so easy to teach you since I always know what you learned exactly four years before,” the Secretary had crowed. He instructed each version of Ambassador X in order each day so he would move from least experienced to most experienced.
The lessons usually came during physical labor.
Ambassador X would be digging up dirt to cart over for the building’s walls. The Secretary would come up and start drilling him.
“What are the four major types of Sensaurians?”
“Overmind, Command, Soldier, Worker.”
What is the name of the Progon homeworld?”
“Tiel”
What are the Sensaurian eating habits.
“We do not know as they refuse to dine in diplomatic situations.”
“Should you ever offer Progons food?”
“It is not necessary but they appreciate the courtesy. Only offer once as they see the insistence as an insult to their machine nature.”
“What are the Sensaurian wheeled containers properly called?”
“Buckets. They really are buckets even in translation. Hilarious.”
“Focus. What is unique about Progon evolution?”
“They are non-corporeal and had the lowest probability of reaching sentience of any known sentient species.”
And on and on, day after day, until the day before Ambassador X’s original arrival.
