The first draft is written! :) Going to leave it for a week or two to let it rest and then start editing.
25.000 words and another scene written! Really happy with the new details that came to me while writing, also the ending of the scene seems great (for now, hope I will 'feel it' when I do the rewrite of the first draft :P ).
The plan for tomorrow - writing one of the key scenes. I can already see the end, smell the fresh air coming from the end of the tunnel. Almost there :)
Just reached the 20.000 words (total word count 20.810)! Didn't go for the full 2.000 words today (wrote one scene of about 1.700) as there are only a couple of scenes left and the first draft will be done!
As my subsequent drafts considerably grow in size I would say it's definitely going to be 30.000 - 35.000 words (thought it would be bigger to be honest). I know that it's a horrible length but I do not worry about that right now. Happy I am nearing the end of this draft and will be able to start the rewrite soon!
When the draft is done I am planning to think the structure over mainly to integrate the flashback scenes better into the main plot. And also, I was planning to finally dig deep into the Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook by Donal Maass. Used it in the beginning and it sparked some interesting ideas about the main protagonist and antagonist.
The first 15.000 words of the 1st draft are written!
Having skipped two scenes, one a flashback and the other one of memories, I am at the scene numero 13, which takes me to the chapter number… (drum roll) 5!
Today's word count is 1.133! It takes the draft to 9.569 words, almost 10.000! :)
To be honest, I didn't think I'd write anything today, maybe just another 300 words and then just call it a day. But, hey, got to where I should be, even though right now the whole thing feels like a big pile of cr..ackers.
Re-write... That's what I hope will save it and what I dread the most (the horrible feeling before you start editing when you feel like everything you are about to read is not even 'no good', it's worse than that).

To be honest, 90% of those words seem total rubbish, telling the story in a horrible manner. Still, I hope the re-write will save the day :)
I've finished the 5th scene, the first 'unreality' scene in the novel, and have started the next one.
As for tomorrow, goal - another 1.000 words.
The mission for today is accomplished, another 1.003 words added to the manuscript! In total 7.423 words!
I decided to break the previous scene in two as it was too long and it just made sense. That makes the first chapter complete, 4 scenes in total.
Today I worked on the 5th scene, the beginning of the second chapter. The first part of it in Russian was 448 words, somehow in English it got to 1.003 :)
Plan for tomorrow - to add another 1.000 words and to finish the scene.
