Murder at the Veterans' Club is a great mystery that had got me thinking right from the very prologue. I started to try to get into the mindset of the characters that were introduced, even before the main character, and it made me ask questions as to 'what happened,' and 'what's going on.' All great things that you would really need in a mystery novel.
What a fantastic examplar of classic detective literature! The writing is crisp, neat, and perfectly suited to the historical era in which the story takes place. You are near immediately immersed into the roaring 20's, with a cast of characters both quirky and likable. As a diehard fan of classic murder mysteries, I absolutely cannot wait to see this story brought to full fruition as a published novel. Any whodunit fan is sure to be pleased with this modern classic.
