The world we knew is no more. Less than what collectively seems like two year ago, it collided with a Virtual Reality game we knew as Stratos. But now, that game is our reality.

The video game contest is in one day! To celebrate, I’m going streaking through my hometown!

To celebrate in an even BETTER way, I present to you all the new book cover for SideScroller! (I’m computer-illiterate, so I have no idea how to post the cover into this message. But you can just visit the SideScroller page to check it out in all it’s fiery glory!)

I can’t take any credit for the beautiful artwork, though. That’s all thanks to fellow Inksharian (is that a word? I’m making it one) and talented writer, Tabi Card. Check out Tabi’s page, particularly her book "Scribbles"! You rock, Tabi!

I’ll see you tomorrow for the launch of the contest! Thanks so much for following SideScroller. I can’t wait to show you what happens in it.

James Rasile liked an update for The Battle Within

Hi everyone, just a quick update as The Battle Within closes out the campaign.

As it stands right now, we’re at 80% as there are 599 pre-orders and 151 pre-orders to go by 6 Jun to meet the funding goal. That might seem like a lot, but it’s well within reach, so if you know anybody who’s been on the fence or just hasn’t gotten around to pre-ordering yet, please give them a nudge (maybe not an Elbowgate nudge, but that’s your business...).

I’ll keep this short and sweet and will just close out by saying thanks again to everyone for your support; this project definitely couldn’t have come this far without you. Not much longer and I’m confident we’ll reach the goal. Thank you,

    Alastair Luft

      Hello friends, family, and readers,

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend.

Since it was Memorial Day (yesterday), I wanted to highlight some of the Veterans or currently serving people who are writing great stuff here on Inkshares as a small token of gratitude, and just because these are promising books:

      • The Battle Within, a thriller and suspense novel about struggling with PTSD.
      • Taming the Sun, a memoir about recovery.
      • Seven Days Dead, a hard science fiction novel about the beginning of a zombie outbreak in the Middle East.
      • Cries of Battle: Selstra, science fiction about a galaxy at war and humanity fighting against genocide.
      • (If I missed someone, please let me know)

If you served, thank you for your service.

       ...

       PS...

      1. DraftShares is here.
      2. The next Nerdist contest starts tomorrow.

James Rasile liked an update for Tantalus Depths

        Here we are!

Tantalus Depths has finally hit 200 pre-orders! 202, actually, as of this moment.

I cannot begin to express how thankful I am to have reached this milestone. We are now only 48 pre-orders away from reaching the Quill goal! However, I have no intention of stopping at 250. Tantalus Depths will go for the 750 goal no matter how far away it may seem now. You’ve helped us get this far, you can help us get the rest of the way!

As a reminder, I’m still running a promotion: if Tantalus Depths reaches 250 pre-orders by June 5th, I will make my short story, The Perspective Machine, immediately free to download for a short time. That’s ten orders a day for the next five days. Our record is 25 orders in a day, so this can definitely be done! Talk to your friends and family, bring in as many new supporters as you can. Quill is within reach!

Hello all you wonderful people who helped make my dream come true!

Seriously though, I can’t find the words to express how much I appreciate your support. "Thank you" just does not do justice to how grateful I am.

I figured it was time to drop you all a line to let you know where things stand. We are currently in the midst of the editing & design phase. I can’t say enough nice things about the folks over at Inkshares. They have been tremendous at every step of this process.

I’m working with their editing teams in order to spit-shine Space Tripping into the glorious pile of silly misadventure and immature humor that it is. They’ve also brought in a designer to create some gorgeous art for the final book cover. The editing/design phase should take us through the summer. After that, the Inkshares sales people take Space Tripping to market in the hopes of securing shelf space in as many bookstores as possible.

When it’s all said and done, you should expect to receive your copy of Space Tripping around the new year. I know this seems like a long time... trust me, no one wants this book to be out in the world asap more than me... but I have to hand it to the people at Inkshares. They do things the right way.

In the mean time, if you read the first chapter and you’re just dying to know how it is a drunken alien pilot crashed on Earth in the first place, you can click on the link below to read a short story prequel:

              Greetings Jackolytes,

There are fewer than 24 hours before the Canadian government stops matching donations to the Red Cross for the Alberta wildfire recovery efforts. This is fewer than 24 hours to take advantage of Ottawa’s generosity and help out the good folk of Fort McMurray. You buy Sync City in the next 24 hours, and I give $5 to the Red Cross. The Canadian government matches this. Hit this link : www.inkshares.com/books/sync-city  pre-order and help the people out!

              Cheers,

              Peter
