Michael Ostrowski liked an update for WILD CONVICTION

Hello Friends, Followers and Readers of WILD CONVICTION!
I hope you all are doing well.
I just turned in final grades for my classes this semester!

Whenever you have a moment, please visit my Wild Conviction page and read the comments under the tabs DISCUSSION and REVIEWS. They are written by you, my readers and supporters, and they all great!

Your posted comments and reviews create excitement about the novel!

And posting comments under Discussion and Reviews helps with the contest; the more engagement the novel gets, the more chances it has for winning the contest and thus getting published by Inkshares.

Ways to show engagement with the novel to show continued support and help me achieve my dream of publication of WILD CONVICTION are:

 1. Log in to Inkshares. (You have an account if you pre-ordered or created an account to comment.)  Here’s the link:

https://www.inkshares.com/books/wild-conviction

The above link will take you to the page for WILD CONVICTION.

 2. Then, do one or more of these options. You’ll see these buttons on the page:

*FOLLOW (if you haven’t already done so)
*SHARE
*READ chapter or chapters that are posted
*Comment (can be brief) by clicking the DISCUSSION tab
*RECOMMEND by clicking on the REVIEWS tab, then go to Recommend
*Comment (can be brief) and Recommend by clicking on the REVIEWS tab, then go to Recommend; there’s an option to comment when you Recommend
*Pre-order if you wish. (Thanks for the many pre-orders the novel has already received!)

Any of the above options are greatly appreciated!!

Thank you for the wonderful comments and reviews that you have posted and for all of your support!!

Also, I made just a few edits to the chapters posted.

Remember, if you pre-order, I will send you the "actual" letter from GrandMama to Twilight, if you would like it. (It’s cool--has the actual wax seal, etc.)

It is also Chapter 3, which I am not posting. For those of you who haven’t yet received the letter, I will be getting those in the mail to you soon. Sorry for the delay.

Thank you so much again, everyone!!  Wonderful wishes and blessings to you! Mary

Michael Ostrowski liked an update for Tantalus Depths

Hello friends. Exciting news today! My new short story, Reliquary, is available now as part of Writing Bloc’s Passageways anthology. This exciting new collection features short stories by nine brilliant authors, each one a brand new addition to a different, expertly crafted fictional universe. These nine stories are ambassadors and tour guides, here to introduce you to vast, intricate worlds, each delicately formed with the utmost care by its author. You’ll find an excellent selection of science fiction, fantasy, and horror tales here, and I could not be prouder to have Reliquary number among them.

What is Reliquary, you ask? Reliquary is the newest story from my own anthology series, The Calling Void. That’s right, my series has an official name, now! The Calling Void is the dark, hard sci-fi universe of my previous two short stories, Breach and Countermeasures, and my upcoming novels Tantalus Depths and Proteus.

Reliquary explores new locations and concepts in this universe, as we make our first visit to Showalter: the first and only planet yet discovered that can sustain human life. We are also introduced to the Aftothysian movement: a radical group of extremists who oppose interplanetary colonization of any kind, and are willing to go to grim and desperate extremes to stop humanity’s expansion into the stars. They have recently acquired their greatest and most terrifying asset yet: the Biscayne Relic. A unique piece of technology created by the near-omnipotent AI that almost destroyed the Earth during the apocalyptic Corsica Event most of a century ago, the terrible destructive potential of the Biscayne Relic cannot be underestimated. But the Aftothysians are not the only ones with an interest in the Biscayne Relic. Nor are they the greatest threat to humankind.

You can read Reliquary right now in Passageways right here on Kindle or right here on paperback. I look forward to sharing this exciting new adventure with you, and many more very soon!

Michael Ostrowski sent an update for Lost in the Fog

      Aloha All,

Thank you to everyone who has let me know they have received their copies of Lost in the Fog!  It’s been a long journey to publication, and I’m extremely excited for you to finally have the opportunity to read the book!  The calls, texts, emails, DMs, and social media posts you’ve shared have made me incredibly happy.

For those who have yet to receive their copies, please know the books have shipped and are on the way.  Your wonderful neighborhood mailperson will be getting it into your hands very soon!

When you do receive your copy of Lost in the Fog, I’d love to hear from you.  And if you’re able to post a picture of it to the social media outlet of your choosing, I would greatly appreciate that as well!  You can tag me with @mikeozzie for Instagram and @MichaelOWriter (both Facebook and Twitter).

      Mahalo!

Michael Ostrowski liked an update for Bane of All Things

Howdy! How is this holiday season shaping up for you and yours?

In our house, circumstances have prompted gift shopping to be already done in record time, pending a few more doorstep deliveries. (A gift for my wife has a delivery window as late as Dec. 23 – should I worry?)

I want to thank everyone who has so far taken the time to support me in Inkshare’s new All-Genre Manuscript Contest, which I introduced in my last update.

If you haven’t done so, please do! I am competing against 100+ other entries and it’s getting interesting.

My contest entry is The Crucible Tree, book 2 in what I plan to be a four-book series. You can check it out at https://www.inkshares.com/books/the-crucible-tree

Remember, this contest is not a pre-order campaign like before with Bane of All Things. It is the first time that Inkshares is running a contest that is scored on social engagement metrics only.

All you need to do is:

        1.     Visit the above link

        2.     Sign in to Inkshares as you did before (You may need a password reset – easy to do)

        3.     Then click to Follow The Crucible Tree (It may not stick if you click Follow then sign in, without clicking Follow again)

        4.     You can also help boost me up the contest standings if you read my sample chapters and post a Review

This contest is an opportunity to promote my work ahead of next summer’s release of Bane of All Things. New authors can easily become one-book wonders if their first book doesn’t sell well. Anything you can do now to support me in this contest could help me be more successful down the road.

(FYI: If you visit the Leaderboard for this contest and wonder, “Why in heck is The Crucible Tree so far down the list?”, be aware that the public ranking algorithm doesn’t reflect the actual metrics that matter in this particular contest.)

On the cancer front, I have just passed the halfway point in my one year of gene therapy. Been a few bumps along the way, but I appear to have achieved a ceasefire with the couple of side effects that were troublesome. Onward and upward!

Again, thank you for all your patience and support. Have a great holiday season and keep safe.

        Cheers

        Leo

Michael Ostrowski liked an update for Beyond The Code

          Greetings Wonderful Followers,

I was invited back onto the Alive After Reading Podcast. We talk about writing sequels, story structure. and my own sequel, Beyond the Masquerade. Click the link below and give it a listen.

          http://www.timniederriter.com/podcast/alive-after-reading-180-kelsey-rae-barthel/?fbclid=IwAR1F14wlXdWnqRbEgTOSBxraQcS85-L5pKGU52Mwi0_sRDb0FaVDOY9naxA

If you haven’t yet followed Beyond the Masquerade, make sure to follow, comment, share, and pre-order if you like what you see. The campaign is going good but could use some love. If you want to read more adventures with Luna and Ranger, give the campaign some attention and love and we can make this sequel a reality! It would mean the world to me.

Thanks for all your ongoing support,

          Kelsey Rae Barthel

Michael Ostrowski liked an update for The Seclusion

Hi all! This note is just going out to those who follow The Seclusion on Inkshares. If you follow my most recent project then you may have received a similar note already(if so, I apologize and you can ignore the rest of this message).

For everyone else-hi! I know it has been awhile. I will send out a full newsletter soon for those who are subscribed with an update regarding production for The Seclusion Part 2(still aiming for summer or early fall) and a rundown on what I have been up to lately. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and enjoying the beginning of the holiday season. I am looking forward to connecting with all of you when this insane year is behind us.

              Now, for my news:

I’ve entered the novel IT STARTED BENEATH A SEPIA SKY into the Inkshares 2020 All Genre Manuscript Contest.

Unlike my other two novels which relied on preorders to secure a publishing contract, preorders are not necessary this time around, but are appreciated.  Winners of this contest will be selected based on reader engagement. So, on that note, if you are up for checking out my posted chapters and leaving a comment or review, I would appreciate it!

This story is one that I’m incredibly excited to share with all of you. A pilot version of this story, that I have been editing alongside the novel, has already garnered a few accolades including:

              • Honorable Mention in the Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition(Script Category)
              • Semifinalist, Filmmatic TV Pilot Awards
              • Quarterfinalist, TSL Free Screenplay Contest

              I hope you enjoy it!

Michael Ostrowski liked an update for Fae Child

Hello backers and early supporters of Fae Child!

Inkshares is getting ready to send the backer shipping information to the fulfillment venter, and so now is a GREAT time to update your address if you haven’t already. If you haven’t moved since 2016 then you’re probably fine.

I sent out a few reminders, but if you didn’t open those or just put it off until later... now is the time. Just navigate to Inkshares.com and sign in to edit your shipping information. If you are having trouble figuring out how to make sure Inkshares has your correct mailing address, send them an email at hello@inkshares.com

I have also started an Inkshares project page for book 2 of the Fae Child Trilogy! THE FURIOUS HOST is currently accepting preorders and is competing in Inkshares’ newest contest. Click here: bit.ly/thefurioushost to follow the book page and give it an extra boost. Following and sharing is enough -- I appreciate the support!

I have a short story coming out in an anthology in December as well. PASSAGEWAYS anthology features stories from nine established authors and the unique worlds of their series. I am honored to have been selected to take part, seeing as Fae Child isn’t published yet. "Thick as Thieves," my short story, is a peek at the backstory of two of the characters from Fae Child. Reading it will not spoil you on Fae Child! I am super excited for you to read it. You can preorder it now!

Thank you all! 22 days until Fae Child is published!
